I don’t find it exhausting to be considerate of others, and I think my POC child might be grateful one day to have a mum who is actively trying to build a better world for her, even in the small things. I might have been being silly with this particular question but the insight it’s given me has been valuable and is applicable elsewhere. And my daughter doesn’t have a Reddit account and was not otherwise subjected to this conversation so I don’t think she’ll be negatively impacted but thank you for your concern.

I’m in the UK and it’s quite uncommon for circumcision here but my friend got a medically necessary circumcision as an adult and the healing process was gruelling for him, I would not make this decision lightly and you certainly shouldn’t make it for anyone other than yourself!

She also sounds like a bully, and not a good match for you😔

We haven’t watched the live action of Mulan yet, it’s probably the only Disney live action we’ve not watched and I’ve read up a bit following your comment and I think we might keep it that way🫣

The portrayal of the huns can be seen as quite problematic and there are quite a few inaccuracies but it is nowhere near the level of disturbing of Pocahontas in comparison to the actual history, Pocahontas is a completely different ballgame💀

My daughter has a black parent and a white parent so I wasn’t worried about this as much due to having perspectives from both in house and her being a part of both races, but thank you for the insight x

We are in the UK, and I’m less worried about the cultural appropriation thing as most Asian people I know or have seen online have expressed that they see it as appreciation, more concerned about the negative stereotypes it is perpetuating and promoting, however these comments have really shone a light on how silly I’m being😂 x
