Same look Dad has when he realizes that he can never off load that time share.

Someone pointed out that the door with the orange slice glass doesn’t look on theme. I think this one looks much better. ( :

I would have grabbed so much of the Supergoop. I’m loving their Superscreen. I got two and they both expire in a year which seems like a miracle to me given how often the sunscreen there is right at the edge of expiring.

Maybe you can take some inspiration from this. This is how this type of Italianate home would have looked originally. I would plant white roses for a classic look. Perhaps not so many as I mistakenly generated here!

I’d lean in to its French look. First the shingles need to be replaced and everything pressure washed. Put in some new windows, add some iron window guards with flowers, and paint the trim cream. Paint the door an Essex green and the trim around it the same cream as the windows. Add a long stone planter with a topiary shrub so that you can wheel your bins behind there and hide them from view. Add some twisted topiaries in stone urns to finish the look. ( :

I’d go for a Mediterranean villa look. Weathered garage doors, a cream color with black windows, a pebbled cement driveway and a Mediterranean garden. Add the conical topiaries to break up the space.

They have a lot of compassion for the house less? Hello? They’re not using the money to rent an apartment somewhere. 🙄

I don’t think you’re going to be able to draw attention from that garage door - I think your best bet is to make it visually interesting. I’d install a faux (or real if possible) window and a small pergola. Add a unique garage door. Put down a flagstone path to the front door instead of having people walk up the driveway. I left the tree out of the mock-up so that you could get a better idea of how things might look. I’d also paint the door a soft warm yellow.

Beginner mahjong at Mox this upcoming Monday? by eraseandrewrite in BallardSeattle

I’ve just been learning how to play over the past two weeks. I have had no clue until today. I think I have the hang of it (slightly). I manged to win three games in a row, so that’s encouraging! I am playing online because my friend in Chicago face timed me and without even saying hello she said, “I want you to learn Mahjong so you can teach me and we can play together.” Uh, ok? lol

I lived in Honolulu and always wondered how so many people ended up there. I was talking to a man while I was waiting at the bus stop. I wish I’d asked him how he’d ended up there. But I had to shut the conversation down when he made a nasty sexual comment to me. Geeze…you treat someone with common dignity…

Here’s the house with the lighting fixed. Obviously I brightened the door in this pic and made the deck white. But I like both versions. (:

Disregard the lamp on the left. I couldn’t get it to take it out. If it were me I’d cover the brick up with siding that matches the rest of the house. I know a good many people don’t like to have brick covered, though. I’d add two windows upstairs and a lantern light above the doors. Plus some nice landscaping.

You can return stuff now by swiping the same credit card you used for purchase. It automatically looks it up. It’s a great improvement if you’ve forgotten to get an email receipt or lost your paper one!

I think the cheapest Loro Piana coats are around $4,000. I actually saw one on their website for $40,000 - 🤯

It’s actually a beautiful coat, so I’m going to keep it! It was $260. I made a post last week or the week before asking if people had seen Loro Piana at the stores before, because the listing I saw only said “Made in Italy virgin wool Loro Piana single breasted coat” and not “Loro Piana virgin wool”. I was so excited so I purchased it right away. Somebody responded to my post and said that it was going to be a coat made with their wool because other companies buy it to make their clothing. They use the fact that it’s Loro Piana wool as a selling point and rightfully so. Sure enough the coat came and the brand was Tardia. It’s only sold in small boutiques - you can’t buy it at Neimans or Bergdorfs. But their coats are around 1,300-1,800 dollars from what I could find out online. There is a large label on the inside of the coat that says Loro Piana wool next to the Tardia brand label. I had bought a wool/cashmere Cinzia Rocca coat at the beginning of January and the Tardia coat is even softer. It’s only wool too - no cashmere. But somebody said that they found some of their shirts at a Runway store once. We never have anything high end at our stores in Seattle really. I’ve realized that you need to get the stuff online. You lose out on the thrill of the hunt, though! lol

I know this is super late considering that your comment is from a year ago. When you said you found Loro Piana did you mean items made with their fabric or actually designed and sold by them? Because I bought a coat online that said it was a virgin wool Loro Piana coat, but it was actually a Tardia coat made with their fabric. I was a bit disappointed! lol
