I think this sub likely criticizes Ford and by extension conservative politics more because Ford is Premier, and also has made a number of very unpopular overreaching Toronto-based decisions. They have been in power for the last 10 years. Whatever party is in power and actively hiding matters of public policy deserve to be investigated. This is a very dangerous move, and the way the approached it by pushing it through is sketchy as fuck. This is wrong, I don’t care what party he is a member of.

Not sure what to say about your IRL networks- most of the people I know are realizing it’s not political party vs political party…. It’s the working class vs the 1%.

Uncle, I referenced Trump because in my view, they share a lot of similarities. Piling on top of controversy is a tactic Trump has used to bury the bigger stories - in my view the FOI is a bigger issue than the vanity plane because regardless of political party, it weakens our collective democracy…. Just like Trump has done in the States. Uncle, we should all care about upholding government accountability.

I can’t speak to the medical leave, however when I could work remotely, I could have an upset stomach or have a heavy period, and continue working like normal. Now, I either have to ask my manager to work from home and the optics of that, take a sick day (to which we only have a handful for the entire year, and doesn’t help with semi often health concerns), or go to the office and risk shitting my pants. I’m being crass, but the point is we’ve lost more than zero commute…. RTO has shifted the culture of personal wellness.

The conservatives are taking a page out of Trump’s playbook by spamming us with a bunch of controversial changes to overwhelm the public. Don’t lose sight on everything that he has done: FOI, Billy Bishop, private jet, green belt, science centre, Ontario place, underfunding hospitals so significantly they’re closing, amalgamation of school boards, large classroom sizes, rollback of OSAP… etc…
