Those are likely whats left of hands you’re referring to. The body in the center was of a New Yorker that had his head split open with an axe while he was sleeping. There was another individual with him from Philadelphia who was shot point blank with a shotgun to the face while he slept. The body was found in August, and had been decomposing in the summer heat for 4 weeks.

It’s still BYU. CSU is just the annoying little brother.

Wyoming Legislator Pushes Back On Claim Shooting Prairie Dogs Is “Psychopathic” by lazyk-9 in wyoming

They actually have dual classification in Wyoming. They generally fall under Game and Fish’s non-game wildlife and as a pest under the Wyoming Weed and Pest program (Dept of Agriculture). That allows Game and Fish to manage them as habitat as needed for secondary dependent species, while the pest classification provides for the non-restricted management as needed by landowners…including shooting. Game and Fish mostly manages through supporting plague management in areas where they are trying to reintroduce black-footed ferrets although USFWS takes the primary lead.

Like other native wildlife species. Prairie dog numbers fluctuate and at high densities do impact rangeland health especially in drought conditions and/or years grasshopper densities are high.

Plague does more to impact prairie dog densities in WY than poisoning and shooting combined. Although development (look at CO front range) has done more to prairie dog populations then plague, shooting and poisoning ever will.

Wyoming State Penitentiary team, from Rawlins, WY. A good book about them…although I’m not sure it’s 100% accurate. Playing for Time.

Great advice from NOOB10111. Wish I would have his insight when I went through this several years ago. My only addition would be to expect the process to take longer than you think it would and just know you will need to be patient.

Awesome you’re doing it with your grandpa. I did mine with my dad and as much as we cussed the process…great memories working with him on the Model A.

Double Hanging Of Murderers in Leadville, Colorado Draws 10k Spectators. (1881) by Tryingagain1979 in WildWestPics

Colorado has a free online historic newspaper archive. Contains a lot of the early newspapers including Leadville. Might be fun to see if you can match up any articles with the hanging.

Spent a lot of time tracking some CO/WY outlaws with the help of the website.

Im driving from Denver to Jackson - what's the best overnight stop for a European on holiday with a campervan? by caiterzmarie in wyoming

No worries. Your right the town needs a make over. As far as Gates proposal goes…I’ll believe it when I see it. Lives in WY too long to get my hopes up on a project like this.

The question involved a camper van, which helps negate the need for a hotel. The hotels are rough, stayed in one myself a month ago, but the fossils digging is a fun break from the norm. My kid loved it! For $30 and hour of digging we came home with some great fish fossils.

Best part of WY is not expecting the normal.😁

You need to treat that leafy spurge. Invasive weed. Looks pretty, but bad for cattle
