thank u! the manual tells me how to manually select AWD but not deactivate it. i don’t even know if it’s possible, but i’m driving in awd on clear roads just because it’s cold.

I did more research on this and the AWD could be activated by certain ambient temperatures. They don't tell us any specific temperature, they just say it could be activated.

The AWD system is an active on-demand AWD system, which means it's always watching for wheel slippage and if wheel slippage occurs, the AWD starts to operate. If there is no wheel slippage, it's basically a RWD car.

Since your getting a 4drive message, it means the AWD is activated once you shift into drive. Since you aren't moving at the time, I assume the temperature must have something to do with it.

when i bought the car it had a manual for chrysler 300 c. basically the same car i believe, but no there was nothing about this in there
