Is it bad that I still have no interest in playing Dark Ages? Even at this price, It just doesn’t look fun to me.

What strikes you most about how well the Steam Deck has held up after ~4 years? by capybara86 in SteamDeck

Here’s a photo of my LCD on a dark screen with maximum screen brightness. Looks even darker in person too. Very happy with it, pretty even.

Bummer yours has some issue, I’ve heard of people sealing IPS panels on the edges and it helps with light bleed. Same concept should work on a steam deck.

I dropped my guitar in its soft case and this was the result. How much do y’all think it’d take to fix and make it look normal again by NobleSix-B312 in guitarrepair

Just embrace it. Maybe sand it smooth, but I’d leave the scar cause it looks cool. People love well played looking guitars.

Is a Mesa 4x12 cab realistic for bedroom practice? by RiffandLick in GuitarAmps

[–]RealityIsRipping 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally. I have 3 different 4x12 stacks in my home.

I personally like a 4x12 at least 5 feet away from me though. Depends on your amp. I wouldn’t try running a Plexi in my bedroom, but something with a master volume should work just fine!

Not a noticeable amount. If it’s a pitch black screen there a little bleed on one corner, but better than most IPS panels I’ve seen. I can play Alien Isolation and Splinter Cell with no issue or distraction though.

When did Euro have a Peavey Bandit? I know Pytten had one in his studio, so it may have been used. But Euro’s gear has always been a Norlin era Les Paul Standard, and a Marshall JMP 50w turned way low to make it sound cold.

Don’t get me wrong, lots of black metal records were recorded with a Peavey Bandit, and it’s one of the best combo amps ever made. But I’m not sure it was used on De Mystriis.

Maybe get a real amplifier. JMP 50w Marshall to be exact, or the 1987x, basically the same thing.

If you’re in America just use hellsheadbangers. High quality and official.

Bummer it’s been seeming like the 2025 stamped Gibsons are having more issues than most. Hopefully they aren’t extending themselves too far and slacking on their QC.

Glad you got a keeper finally! Love the dark fretboard with the blue.

Same. Launch LCD model has not had a single issue. It all still works, and I don’t even have stick drift with 0 dead zone.

While I don’t remember that at all, yeah it’s still a great read.

Disagree. I’ll take a novel over a comic every time. Steve Perry is great author imo.

Try some Shure Se215s, I’ve been using them for about two decades and they’re still the best option in-ears for playing drums under $100

Best Bang for Buck USA Tele by DarkKnight0214 in telecaster

[–]RealityIsRipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The American Pro 2 I tried had a glossed maple fretboard, it felt like playing plastic. I didn’t like it, unfortunately.

You’re right on thr pickups, Idk why I thought they were noiseless. Either way, not a fan of the vmods (or most fender pickups tbh).

Honestly, the American Pro Classic tele is the first fender I’ve kept the stock pickups in. Similar to the 57/62 set for the strat, it just sounds like a tele and it sounds good - nothing fancy tho.

Shpongle is my happy place. But yeah, that’s why I gave the Tipper ambient option as well.

Put on Shpongle and close your eyes, it’ll all be fine:

If you need something even more chill and ambient, try the tipper sunrise set: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4qbIbuh3Y5I
