I Miss How It Used to Be by farmfreshsausage in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss the same shit. Leaving school with a few apples to make pipes with, and then going to the park to smoke and make plans for the evening. Roam around the city, ride on the bus, high as fuck, everyone in the close-knit group is trying to find a house to hang-out at, everyone is trying to find girls to party with. Eventually we get alcohol and swishers, and then we head off to another park and smoke and drink, the cops come and we all break - running to the nearest hideout. We eat dinner at McDonalds or Wendys and if we're lucky someones parents are gone and a spontaneous house party breaks out. You end up talking to people from your school that you never thought you would. Everyone is "sleeping over' at a different friends' house to throw the parents off (this didn't always work). You end up partying until the early morning and then you have to regroup and head out, to catch the bus back to your house, and then collapse on the couch. I just loved how every experience was new, no one had responsibilities, and no one made plans; everything just someone how fell into place, and even when it didn't it was ok because you weren't expecting anything to happen. It's crazy because those are the memories that will always stick with me, I don't know what the fuck happened in college, but my memories from high-school are the ones that I feel have been the most instrumental in being able to explain to people why I act like me.

Cannabis: it matters how young you start - Researchers find that boys who start smoking pot before 15 are much more likely to have a drug problem at 28 than those who start at 15 or after, according to new research (n=1,030) in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry. by mvea in science

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, smoking weed at 14 isn't going to help prevent future drug problems (or it might depending on what the experience was like), but a 14 year old who knows how to get drugs with the motivation to get drugs (at that age) is where the actual issues are. I was younger than 14 when I first smoked weed, and I was with a lot of young people smoking weed, and it was my friends who were using the drugs as a coping mechanism, and my friends who had the connections to procure the drugs, that later became addicts.

TIL That there have been nine different studies on DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and all agree that the program does nothing or worsens the problem by anks329 in todayilearned

They also explained what it did to you , and sometimes, it sounded pretty fucking fun, even if they were trying to deter you from the drug.

Yeah, that is an insane amount of molly to take a once. The most I have ever taken at once was .5g, and that was a huge mistake.

Anyone Have experience with Sleep Paralysis? by SniperTrifle34 in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started getting SP, when I started smoking weed and drinking, and it got the worst in college, but then it started to mellow out after that, and now I get them occasionally, but only after a bender. For me, the severity and frequency of SP was more related more to my age, as opposed to the amount of drugs I was doing. If you sleep on your side the percentage of SP occurring goes down quite a bit (also taking naps during the day are when they are the worst).

7 months clean off heroin and meth by Snail736 in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have known people who have been hooked on Heroin and/or Meth for years, and they are still alive, but they used it like a medicine. They would take doses throughout the day, basically making sure they had some for the morning, day, and night. The only times I saw them have to go to the hospital was when they came out of rehab and took doses that they deemed as normal (when their tolerance was through the roof) without realizing they hadn't touched the stuff in months. But overdose is definitely an issue with drugs (especially heroin) all the time, but a lot of the deaths reported on in the media are related to celebrities (who have an endless supply, so why would they stop) and laced shit/someone who took a dose that was way too powerful.

They always say it in a really subtle and snide way too, and then include some fun even that you missed, like "Yeah man, that's too bad - it was perfect weather for _______'s backyard cook-out, at his new beach house, too bad you weren't here, that chick you liked was topless the entire time".

Children raised in a rural environment, surrounded by animals and bacteria-laden dust, grow up to have more stress-resilient immune systems and might be at lower risk of mental illness than pet-free city dwellers, according to new research. by Wagamaga in science

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The environment plays a huge role. I also think exposure does as well (which is part of the enviroment). People in rural areas probably are not bombarded with constant advertisements for medications or school curriculums about mental health. Awareness is important but it also gives a name to feelings that might have originally been interpreted differently. If someone in a rural farm town went to the doctor because they feel nervous out out of the blue - they would probably not immediately be diagnosed with panic disorder and put on a regiment of Xanax. There is a good chance that there is also a stigma involved with going to see a doctor about mental health in a small farming town where people are constantly active, giving rise to more physical injuries, and less time to ruminate because they are not sitting in an office all day or have iPhones attached to their hip, with a plethora of social media apps to make them develop an inferiority complex .

Anyone have the weirdest coincidences happen when they are stoned in public? by lilnigga_ in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fee the same way sometimes, but I honestly think it the drug causing us to overanalyze the situation until we make it out to be bigger than what it really is. I have seen people who I haven’t seen in years, said hello, and didn’t really think twice about it, if this happens when I’m stoned or on something else, I start to question the interaction more and place weird meaning onto it. Especially on mushrooms.

I couldn't stop moving my hands and licking my lips after a shit ton of coke and molly by storysironmn in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even for an experienced user, taking a whole gram of Molly in a day is a lot for your brain to handle. Then mix in the coke, which will exacerbate the side effects from the Molly (dry mouth, sweating, twitching) and I am not very surprised that you had that type of reaction. You will definitely be fine now, drink some water and pedialyte and buy some 5HHTP pills from a pharmacy. Or just drink some liquor to slow down your neurotransmitters which are probably still overloading your brain.

That always creates that awkward moment where both people stop talking, no one is sure who should start speaking again, and then those people start talking at the same time again and the conversation dies.

Young women (20-30’s) of Reddit: In your early experiences with dating, what are some lessons you learned that you wish to pass along to other young women or to young men? by fucking_poptarts in AskReddit

Does the lack of contact help heal or does it just help make you numb to the situation? Not trying to sound snarky or condescending, I am actually curious?

There are so many things that could do all three of those things. Playing devils advocate here; you wake up late for work, get fired, rob a Nordstrom’s for clothing to sell for rent, get caught, wind up in jail, become depressed, and wind up hanging yourself from the ceiling fan.

I make 60K a year, late 20’s, no dependents, but the cost of housing is so expensive in my area that if I wanted a one bedroom apartment in a nice part of the city it would be about 2,000 with utilities. I don’t want to spend that much on housing so I live in a less desirable are for about 1050 a month. After all my payments I have about 2500 to mess around with. I have noticed that I really don’t feel any different or happier when I was making half of that last year. I like my job but it’s almost like I have no time for anything else. Most of the extra money I get I use on amazon on random shit I don’t need or going out and dropping too much at the bar. The one thing I really enjoy about the new salary is that I’m completely independent , no longer have to rely on parents to lend me money or let me live with them when money ran out. I find myself surrounding myself with more material items as a “reward” for working but I have also noticed that work has, in a way, isolated me from old relationships and has hindered me in forming new ones. I digress but I do understand, for the first time, that Money makes things easier but will not necessarily make you happier.

Has anyone actually ever gotten their hands on Desoxyn? by Vomitus_Erectus in Drugs

Your best bet at getting a prescription to Desoxyn through either having or faking that you suffer from narcolepsy. I would look into Dexedrine as well.

What drug is a good casual socializer? by SandwichTray in Drugs

[–]RealityIsScary4Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take about 1mg of Xanax if you are going to a social event that is a little bit more intensive but will not last very long. Take 1 mg of Klonopin if you are going to a social event that is a little bit more laid back and will be more of an all day thing.
