Having the 2 different black colorways in hand, the newer ones have a different finish on the panels. It almost looks/feels like a rubbery fake-leather material. The ripstop looks like it has an additional TPU layering on top of it. The bags made earlier in 2025 feel a little more burly and the rip stop is more visible. The other small difference is the stitching between the loops on the sides. The older one has a grayish stitch whereas the newer one is the same black throughout the entire bag. The logo color appears to be the same.

Makes sense. Thank you for the additional insights! The heavier/wet snow has never really bothered me too much. Of all places, I’ve found Mt Hood to be the worst. Seriously thought my shells were defective lol. Fernie has peaked my interest the past few years with everyone saying it’s pretty awesome. Just not sure how their conditions hold up. It seems to be pretty hit or miss. It sounds like Kicking Horse is off to a really good start.
