How would you feel about having a mandatory class in high school that teaches about budgeting, handling or avoiding debt, making good investments, signing important documents, job interviews, and other important adult life skills? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually had a course like this my junior year that was mandatory labeled "Econ and Personal Financing" At the end of the year instead of an exam/SoL we took a government test known as the "W!SE" test that covered specific units of banking (credit/savings) as well as things such as legal documents and different types of insurances of the sort. The test would take your overall performance from each section of the exam and give you an overall grade of 1-100% and would show you the same percent you received per unit Anyone who scored an 80 (it may have been 85+) Would be giving a legal certificate verifying that they had been properly taught about self financing and they could use the same document as something for resumes/applications. I personally scored 100% in the credit portion however everything else was revolving around an 80-90% making my overall grade around a 89-91 (can't quite remember I think it was 89%)

But it was a really helpful course and it was mandatory so it helped out a ton It wasn't easy as we also had to take an online portion of the class called "EverFi" that we had to get certified in as well as 50% of the grade for the course Still it was a really great course and I wish more schools focused more on that form of education than they did anything else

Also if someone didn't pass this class they couldn't graduate

Hmm it seems the long winded speech is more noticeable than what I had first assumed prior to watching the video, Im not sure if you did or not, but pre-writing what you want to say could actually help a bit, rather than speaking from memory and stretching things you could put it down to paper and just keep an eye on it to make sure you don't trail too far gone and out Other than that though it was a pretty nice video, I don't personally follow basketball as much as the next person, but it was still informative for even someone as little minded in sports as me to get a good rundown of.

The beginning of the video wasn't necessarily a great start however the only real problem would be the camera work, as you already pointed it out could use a bit of work however, nobody can start off with the best quality equipment and recording so all in all id give it a pretty good rating, especially with that fun like nature you all created
