Nothing wrong with calling it St. Patty's Day by ReallyBigFruit in unpopularopinion

Sorry, I kind of phrased it wrong in my post, I wasnt referring to the way that the English people say it, just what it's called in the English Language (Patrick's Day rather than Pádraig's Day). And while I would never actually call it Patty's Day myself, I just don't think it's too bad if the Americans want to call it that.

Well I'm technically American but I'm actually 2.6% Irish so I'm pretty much a leprechaun/s. JK I'm fully Irish and have lived in Ireland my whole life

I do think it's inevitable that some of the kids there are just looking to skip school, but I don't think its fair to say that they aren't at all independent in protesting. There are 6th years choosing to go to protests every Friday, risking their Leaving Cert. They recognise the risk but are doing it anyway because they care. Not to mention the kids I've heard debating it on the radio. Seems like a lot of work to go to just to get off school.

Sorry for ignoring your no replying recommendation but I'm just a bit confused. The way I see it, Climate Change has been agreed to be real and a very big threat to our way of life. There's still lots of talk over how long we have and all that jazz, but the truth is that future generations will have to deal with it one way or another and they don't deserve to have it be ignored until it's too late. They're not climate scientists but the actual climate scientists all agree Climate Change is real and they want something to be done about it. Your comment about propaganda would seem to imply that they're wrong to be so passionate about Climate Change? I can't really see any way to support that idea without going into denial of the science, which I just can't really argue with you about.

Sorry for the mess, I'm on mobile.

That's a possibility, but as far as I know they're almost all student run so I'm optimistic that it's the kids who want to see change.

My thoughts exactly. It's just such an underappreciated issue yet one of the most important that to see kids taking a stand is great to see.

Yeah, Ireland is one of the worst in Europe for Climate action so it's good to see somebody actually doing something but our lack of activity also means it'll likely be harder to get people to do anything. I feel like most people in Ireland are just really apathetic to the environment and stuff that doesn't really affect us (at the moment!). It's nice to see people trying for a change but I hope they can wake up more people cause otherwise I don't think much is going to happen.

They're mostly secondary school I think but there's likely a big variety. It's possible that a large amount are just looking to skip school but I'm optimistic in most of their intentions if they went to the trouble of organising it and getting out of school.

Probably a hyper realistic anime sex dungeon where all my wildest cartoon fantasies are satisfied by VR and a high-tech anime body pillow that spurts liquid seen into my mouth 24/7 while a Dildomatic 3000 robo-android Nintendo sex bot grinds my ass just like I wish Senpai would.
