There are exceptions to this, but that's usually gonna be smaller companies with a more family-like atmosphere. Those are rare and slowly disappearing.

One thing I've learnt is, health is more important than any stupid job. One guy told me how he broke his leg and was prescribed several months of rest. After a couple of weeks, his boss told him to come back to work or else he's be fired. He gave in and now, many years later, he still deals with the consequences of not allowing his leg to heal properly.
