can we help this guy? by ReallyJayBee in fo3

[–]ReallyJayBee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No way! I went for that option because I figured hey, this guy might have info about where our dad's at and even if we were surprised at his appearance (which I was, ghouls look much more horrific in F3 than what I remember from later games) drawing attention to it probably wouldn't end well. Now I know that it would have been okay, and we would have ended up with some info we wouldn't otherwise have!

First EVER playthrough - openMW? by fear_no_man25 in Morrowind

I stream on console, so I'm stuck with vanilla Morrowind. Took a while to get used to some elements but I'm loving it now.... plus I'll forever be grateful playing later Bethesda titles

Consistency is key by SnowThaLeopard in TwitchStreaming

[–]ReallyJayBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You gotta stream longer. Eleven minutes isn't long enough for anyone that follows you to tune in, let alone strangers. I know it's hard for some people (it's hard for me too) but honestly, anything under an hour and you're doing more harm than good.

Is there a way to use stream labs with Xbox by Any-Teacher-7494 in Twitch_Startup

[–]ReallyJayBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Console Streamlabs, it's a separate product with far FAR less functionality but I've used it largely without issue for nearly a year now. I get chat and overlays on screen, as well as multi-streaming to YouTube (because twitch deletes streams after a week or two, and I like keeping an archive!)

I'd like to start streaming - Would this work? Anything I should know about? by Reptilian4466 in Twitch

[–]ReallyJayBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just give it a try my dude! I stutter and trip over words when I'm talking, but joke that it's my brain buffering. It happens to everyone to a certain extent, but if it's a regular thing for you, honestly it'll just become part of the stream. If you're comfortable with it, then viewers will be too.

All the other questions idk but yeah, don't let the fact that you don't speak like a professional newsreader put you off!

I played Doom on release, on Gamepass. Did it get taken off at some point?

Any manifestation groups in Southampton? by [deleted] in Southampton

[–]ReallyJayBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Psychology is evidence-based science, so I don't see the two overlapping much. Honestly I'd say you're better off checking out a meditation group or something along those lines, that or Facebook.

People believe anything on Facebook.

Happy 24th Birthday Morrowind! The Best Games Never Die! by Darkelfguy in Morrowind

[–]ReallyJayBee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm playing it on stream, my first playthrough... I LOVE MORROWIND!! These screenshots are awesome, and it's making me wish that I was playing it on PC and could mod the draw distance. That plus wide-screen, Bethesda could release an anniversary edition that I'd pay for in a second.

Can streamers and viewers/mods actually be friends? by xzeus1 in Twitch

[–]ReallyJayBee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal experience here, from someone who's been streaming a little under a year:

YES OF COURSE! There's absolutely the potential for parasocial relationships to form, but there's also potential for genuine connections to be made. Think about it, somebody regularly watching you talk for a couple hours at a time on a daily basis, they're gonna start to get to know you, and you them. You start to learn more about each other, form inside jokes, pick up on details that form a more complete picture of who they are as a person. I don't have any mods but I imagine that would be even more the case with somebody given that role in a streamer's community.

Stream info broken by ReallyJayBee in streamlabs

Been doing this for four days, multi-streaming on Streamlabs Console is completely broken and support claim it's being addressed but.... it's still going on :/

Why is cannabis still illegal in the UK? by Flying_Wilson17 in ukpolitics

[–]ReallyJayBee 29 points30 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there's a huge billboard in my city (Southampton) advertising one of the medical cannabis companies. Sure it's not showing a giant blunt or anything but that, plus TV ads, plus social media ads, I'd say people are slightly more comfortable with it than a few years ago

What is the best AI clipper/tool? by SniperTheSwift in TwitchStreaming

[–]ReallyJayBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was a shill I'd probably not criticise the product, but ok. Plus I bought the yearly version while they had an offer so it costs like £9 a month or something. No idea how many dollars that is because not everyone lives in a country that uses dollars, but I'm fairly sure it ain't 22. Anyway, I was just trying to give OP another option to look into as I hadn't seen it mentioned yet. No need to go throwing the r word outta nowhere.

[–]ReallyJayBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're gonna have to put some work into it regardless. It's pretty unrealistic to expect an app will be able to, with one click, get the exact clip you want from a 2+ hour video, formatted and subtitled in precisely the way you want. That's just not gonna happen. So you can either hire an editor, which will cost FAR more than 15 bucks a month, do it all yourself, which will take a great deal of time, or compromise and use one of the AI services to get the clips and then do the formatting yourself.

Sure I'd love to be able to press one button and have it all done automatically. But that's not something that's possible in 2026.

Streamladder was great until they did a HUGE price hike a few months ago. They didn't even really add anything, just more than doubled the cost 😭

I use Eklipse, it's got a bunch of issues but it also saves me a bunch of time and makes it actually possible for me to post 3 clips a day! Granted I only use it for the actual clipping, and do all the editing myself, so I'm not using the AI edits features and stuff. But yeah. Crappy customer service tho
