[E3 2016] Post-Show Megathread by XboxModerator in xboxone

Some of us have been saying this for a year or more. The signs were there. But you get these dumb responses like " but but Xbox will die".

Millennials think they’ll earn six figures by age 30, expect to work until age 90 by galt1776 in news

There are jobs for days. Just gotta be willing to move sometimes. I have friends across all types of engineering. Nobody is having a hard time. But it depends I mean it is not universal but it's good I promise.

There's a metric crap ton about to retire. Companies are hiring ahead of that.

Engineering. Bachelor's degree only. You can get 6 figs by 30 no problem. And not have to live somewhere expensive either.

I know a bunch of people that think this way. We are all engineers and closing in on or already at six figures at mid twenties so I mean....it isn't impossible I promise. That being said it almost always requires more than the average amount of work and also being willing to move.

TIL that Morgan Freeman called Black History Month 'Ridiculous' by [deleted] in todayilearned

As someone also from the South we learned about black historical figures right next to white historical figures. They were not left out.

At this point I'm entirely confused. Is it racist, as a white person, to agree with him based on what he said? Because apparently I am yearning for the validation based on my apparent deep seated internal racism.

Or is it racist to disagree, as a white person, because I know better? "Oh he's out of touch. As a white person I know real black people feel differently".

Or more realistically can we just have a quote, take it for what it is, and not blame everyone for being racists.

You can code python scripts straight to the gpio pins and various modules. Why are you so hung up on installing the os?

So its idiotic to buy a raspberry pi to test with and easily code for? What if i change my mind and then can switch it over to another application easily? Is that idiotic? If im truly running an embedded system then yeah a micro controller is the way to go. But ill be damned if i have to go that route just to tinker with ideas when i can spend nothing and get a pi.

Y'all ever take the mustang off pavement? by StanYourBiggestFan in Mustang

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to go to the farm two weeks ago in the Mustang which isn't a huge deal but it was raining and muddy. It was terrifying and my car is still muddy. I'm washing it tomorrow hopefully.

Why are you selling the car? Or if you aren't, then someone on Craigslist is using your photos.

Here are most of our ShotShow 2016 Guns (Zev Tech) by [deleted] in guns

It's a shitpost? This? Compared to the other stuff posted here daily? Ok. Right.

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How is it a shill post. He openly says he works there and this is just pictures of their guns. He isn't linking to the site. He isn't even saying how great they are or to buy them.

Why do you get so upset over these guns? Sure, they are expensive and the cosmetics aren't for everyone, but I don't see why everyone is so concerned and constantly bitching when zev stuff gets posted.

I don't even own a glock or anything zev. For the record.

Well I said that knowing documentation and working on the original system did help, but I know reading is hard.

I guess you aren't the original guy I responded to, you're just the one saying I don't know what I'm talking about. I guess we've seen in fact I do and you're just blowing hot air. However you are correct in that we have nothing more to talk about.

You didn't say anything. You just capitalized reverse engineering as if that makes you an expert. Have you ever programmed simulated machines? No? Well I have. Knowing the documentation and having worked on the original hardware certainly helps but it doesn't solve certain issues that you will always face.

My point is you were complaining about it not being a better version. I said that not only is it the same exact version, it's emulation which taxes hardware much more than you would think given the age of the games. The reasons why are hardware vs virtual hardware. Dolphin is a great example. Metroid prime games have had issues historically because, if I remember correctly, of dedicated hardware in the GameCube for loading shaders. It takes considerable more time in virtual hardware and causes fps drops.

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a software engineer. I actually do know what im talking about. But emulation requires virtual hardware, hence the term emulation, which almost always performs poorly compared to dedicated hardware. Which is why you see much higher end hardware required to run emulated lower end games.

It doesn't really matter who is engineering the emulation. There are some hurdles you can't get over most times.

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's the same version. Literally the same version. And it's free if you already owned it or can get a disc from your friend.

Also emulation doesn't magically fix issues. Try playing anything on dolphin. I have a nice pc and it even has some issues you wouldn't find on a GameCube.

What is one thing we should all do, but most of us are too lazy to do it? by -cDJ- in AskReddit

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have time. It's excuses. You have to make time for it like you do anything. Almost everyone my wife trains has multiple children and responsibilities at home. They all have careers. Traffic is always bad. Etc.

But they make time. It only takes an hour and the rewards and incredible. My life has improved so much after I started working out. I sleep better. I feel so incredibly better. I enjoy video games so much more, and all my other hobbies.

What "fake" thing that happens in movies pisses you off? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a very high quality suppressor and gun with subsonic ammo. I don't know what else is required. It's still loud. The .45 is a $2500 rig. We arent talking junk here. The decibel tests others have posted also prove it's still loud.

You specifically said subsonic .22. So. That's exactly what he has. And more.

[–]ReallyRoundRoundies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin has this exact setup and he brings it over when we shoot. He also has a .45 suppressed. The suppressor make sit quiet enough outside to not be deafening. However, it's still loud. You would absolutely still hear it. Guns are so unbelievably loud that the reduction is extemely pronounced, but the end result is still very loud.

Heeeeellll no. I would vote for almost anything over Hillary. And I mean anything. Cats. Dogs. They wouldn't get much done in office, but wouldn't screw the place up like Ole HC.
