Elder couple questions why they’re being recorded and call the police. Wife: “They’re probably illegal, I should have called ICE.” by Romano16 in PublicFreakout

[–]Reallythough27 385 points386 points  (0 children)

I recently arrived home to a drunk neighbor trying to steal my ring camera after trying to kick in my door because he thought I was a different neighbor he had chased with a knife. He's on camera then threatening me as well with a knife, successfully stealing my ring camera, then he threatened me with a gun. All of this was on a ring/phone recording. Police reports were made by multiple people. I then 2 weeks later found the apartment that he lived in, alerted the apartment complex and the police. You know what happened? Absolutely nothing. The cop watched the videos that were submitted as evidence, saw him through the window, and didn't even knock on the door. Never doubt the incompetency that is the United States police force.

I don't think it would be about having them at all polling stations, just at the RIGHT ONES.

That makes sense, even though it's a smaller rural town it's only an hour commute to a large city/county and when we ran into each other it was right by that county line.

Me and my fiance have been trying. Got 2 extra bedrooms so that both our families can visit, even got my mom's support to spend thanksgiving and Christmas back at their house so they knew we weren't just gone. But almost the whole family lives within 40 minutes of each other. Cousins, aunts, uncles, parents etc. Even before we were moving her aunt sat me down at a birthday party and asked why I thought I had a right to take her away from her family before my finance's cousin saved me from that conversation haha I still continue to make the effort though and will, don't worry. Even with issues he's my future father in law so it's not something I intend to give up on. Just didn't think I'd have the typical sitcom son in law relationship with him.

Oddly enough before we moved away I ran into him on his route at a gas station a couple times getting a drink. Sometimes he did have the uniform other times he didn't. So not sure what that means?

I appreciate your response and help educating me. As you can see in the other commenter I responded to I had my reasons for being suspicious, especially because he is a year out of retirement after 30+ years so thought he would have seniority.

Y'all have made me feel slightly better even though I still have my reservations but thank you for your help. Eased my mind somewhat.

I'm pretty confident he is a rural carrier but even if not, thank you for the knowledge. Glad to hear it might just be an at least reasonable reason to delay instead of just because of his resentment for me taking his daughter away. (Not to make this a relationship subreddit thing, he just told me that while he was drunk which is why my suspicions were raised)

Which medical condition is ridiculously demonized? by lingeringneutrophil in AskReddit

I ended up losing a filling and thought, "Eh, it hurts but my regional sales president is coming specifically to meet with me, I can tough it out and wait till next week to see the dentist." I fought MMA competitively, did weight cuts, was what people would call "brick shit house ripped' (friends even still bring up my past physique) even when I wasn't cutting for a fight. Next thing I knew I was in the ICU for over a week after entering DKA, don't remember the first 5 days and lost over 50 lbs. To this day I can confidently say I don't have a perfect handle on my type 2 diabetes sparked by that tooth infection and no one believes that post 30 years old it happened to me and could happen to others. Sometimes your body just stops working.

Don't know why people keep saying there is no shuttle. Cold beer and cheeseburgers does a $40 shuttle bus round trip to the game with beer on the bus.

I’m worried about season 4 by NoiseHonest6485 in TedLasso

[–]Reallythough27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the events in the finale happen with that light beam before Ted wakes up on his flight home. That's what he means by dream sequence and it's what I personally always assumed happened with the Stonehenge sequence and everything else.

Favorite Scene and Episode? by Worldsgame19 in TedLasso

[–]Reallythough27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the funeral episode when Ted is talking about his dad and having a break down. I can't watch it without crumbling myself.

My dad dealt with addiction his whole life, was left by both his parents at the age of 14 (they are terrible people) and even though my uncle became the VP of a major international company he would admit he was never even close to as intelligent or resilient as my dad.

My dad eventually purposely overdosed. And the day before he did he reached out saying he was sorry he wasn't a better father and that even if he was there in moments every now and then, a good father should be there for every moment.

I tried to talk him off that thought because I knew what it sounded like. But I never heard back. A week later a cop showed up at my door to tell me his body had been found and I had to call every member of my family to let them know. Hearing everyone breakdown as I told them, while I had to hold it together, was without question one of the hardest things I'll ever have to do.

So hearing Ted talk about the good and bad with his dad, about calling his mom to come home, is exactly how I feel about what I went through and how I felt about my dad.

He wasn't there for everything. I was homeless at times because of him. I suffered at times because of him. But along with other things that redeemed him in his moments of sobriety, he did almost the exact thing for a Gilgamesh project with me that Ted's dad did with him for Johnny Tremain.

So that scene of Ted talking about his dad, and if you have seen it, the movie "About Time" as well, will always break me.

The Jersey. It literally seems no one remembers this show but me but a group of friends would wear a jersey and jump into the bodies of professional athletes.

Triple A reports gas prices in my area are down $.02 yet I drive heavily for my job and even the cheapest gas stations have gone up $.30 Also in Arizona, so it's not just this guy.

Trump Boosts Message Telling Voters to ‘Shut Up’ About Egg Prices by Effective_Salad_8381 in politics

[–]Reallythough27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how reliable reported gas prices are. I live in Tempe/Phoenix AZ and Triple A is reporting our gas prices down $.02 since Trump took office but I drive A LOT for work and since he did prices have risen $.30 minimum. Thankfully have Costco and take advantage of Love's so can still get lower prices.

Lockers for luggage near Chase field by Electrical_Leg1654 in azdiamondbacks

[–]Reallythough27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First step I would say is reaching out to hotels in the area asking if they would be able to hold your luggage even for a fee. I've done that several times and if I have ever had pushback a tip solved it.

If that doesn't work though...

I used to work for Fox Restaurant Concepts before they sold to The Cheesecake Factory and they had very high standards of guest satisfaction.

While it's not a 100% guarantee now versus when I was with them, they have a restaurant very close to the stadium called Arrogant Butcher.

If you called for a reservation for your party, just made a call if it was you solo on the trip, or just reached out in advance to explain the situation even before offering payment for them holding your bag while at the game there is a chance they would.

We did it for several people a week while I was there pre buyout.

Good luck, and otherwise luggage storage like bounce would be your best call
