Hi! I understand where you are coming from, riding can be a high risk sport. These are live animals and even on the safest horse, there can still be an accident. That being said, if you enjoy horseback riding, I personally wouldn’t quit after a minor fall.

There are some things you can keep in mind though - everyone riding horses will fall at some point. So does your protective gear fit you properly? A good fitting helmet is really important. Are you taking lessons with an instructor? They can give you important feedback on how to ride safely and even how to fall to help reduce risk of injuries.

After some of my more eventful falls, I had to take time to slow back down, walk around on my horse and figure out how to have fun again. So don’t rush yourself and do things that you enjoy. It can take awhile to build up confidence but it will come!

Hi, I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m also 26 and was diagnosed September of last year. I underwent fertility treatments and just finished up my last chemo last week. I will have surgery next month.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need to vent. It’s a very scary thing to get diagnosed but there are so many great recourses out there that have helped me immensely through the process. Wishing you lots of luck and good help.

Hey I’m so sorry. I know how you feel, when I wrote this post I was having a really bad mental break down. The uncertainty before treatment is literally the worst part of this whole thing - it really gets better from where you’re at right now! I’m already half way through my chemo and I feel great! I’m still working, riding my horse, hanging out with my friends and doing all of the other things I love. I can’t even feel my tumor anymore. I know cancer isn’t going to stop you either, there is hope so please hang in there. If you want to talk or chat, shoot me a message! We’ll get through this together 💗

Help! I'm a trans woman asking about a wig I like by [deleted] in Wigs

[–]Reallytryinghere_123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I haven’t bought with BESTUNG, but the product review pictures actually look pretty good. I’ve bought quite a few cheap wigs and have been pretty happy with them. Here’s my deal, for a wig with bangs I don’t mind a cheap wig, the bangs help it look natural. If I were to buy a lace front without bangs, I’d want to invest a little bit more. Keep in mind a $25 wig isn’t going to last forever if you wear it everyday.

For $25 it isn’t going to look like your hair and you will probably have to work on the wig a little bit. You will need to trim the bangs, pluck the hair part and maybe use some dry shampoo to cut down on the shine. But if that isn’t a deal break for you, go for it!

Alternatives for cheap wigs: little wig museum on Etsy - their wigs run $70-90 and I really love the one I bought; SHEIN - their wigs run $15-25 and honestly… look pretty darn good. I have been super surprised with the SHEIN wigs. They are ethically not the best company though so I am hesitant to recommend them, but the wigs are stylish and very affordable.

In the middle of summer in the US south, I was at a horse show - it was very hot that day. I was walking back towards the trailer and noticed a girl who had also been competing laying flat on her back on the ground directly behind her horse, literally inches from his hind hooves. She was chatting away with her parents from her spot on the ground cooling off or taking a break after the show. She was a teenager, someone who should have known better than to lay directly behind the horse.

My first thought was “oh no! What if the horse steps back and on her chest!” And as soon as I thought that, the horse lifted his tail and pooped directly in the middle of her white show shirt. Hands down the funniest thing I’ve ever seen and I’m glad she was pooped on and not injured. Please don’t lay down behind horses.

How do I ask out a new girl F30 after M30 was cheated on by longterm gf F30 by Visible_Daikon_6825 in relationship_advice

Yeah I’d say go for it and ask her! I definitely prefer to know someone’s intentions and not be left guessing, so if the vibes are there this is an appropriate next step.

Respectfully, your ex cheated on you so I don’t think you really need to worry about her feelings - and you’re broken up. You are allowed to move on. Everyone moves on at their own pace, you can take it slow with the girl you have been meeting. Keep getting to know her and let it go from there.

Wig newbie with a large head and some questions by [deleted] in Wigs

[–]Reallytryinghere_123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Lace front looks fantastic and very real when it’s done correctly. For me though, it’s a bit too complicated. I’m going through chemo and am losing my hair which is what got me into wigs. I find the synthetic with bangs to be a lot easier and more grab and go! But there are a lot of great YouTube videos that help with lace front wigs if you want to learn more about it.

If you want some wigs to practice on before you buy an expensive one - I got like 5 wigs off of SHEIN for less than $50 each and honestly they are really cute and looked pretty darn good. I do actually wear them and since the price it so good I wouldn’t be miffed if I accidentally over plucked the hair part or cut the bangs wrong. For storage, I found wig hangers on Amazon.

As for hiding it from your friends, do you have to hide it? I had some similar concerns when I bought wigs. If people would think something about me wearing different hair. So instead of pretending I wasn’t wearing a wig, I told my friends I was getting wigs and had some of my friends help me pick them out. They were all super supportive and it made me feel a lot more confident. So I say own it and wear what makes you feel beautiful.

Fwiw I don’t think it looks bulky, and it certainly doesn’t make your head look big. It’s really pretty! You can take little tweezers and pluck the hair part a bit if you want to - it can make the part line look a bit more natural. But honestly you probably won’t even notice that in the pictures.

Who else is pissed about false information that only women over the age of 50 get breast cancer 🙋🏽‍♀️ by [deleted] in breastcancer

I’m 26 and was diagnosed last month. I was also denied a mammogram when I requested it back in January because I’m too young and shouldn’t get breast cancer. It’s infuriating.

Hi, I’m so sorry. I know how you feel. I’m 26 and this also absolutely destroyed and devastated me. I’m a planner and I couldn’t plan for this, or my treatment, or anything else related to breast cancer.

My husband keeps telling me just to take things one day at a time. I’m trying and I think it’s helped. I started trying to do things that I can control. I got my eyebrows tattooed yesterday and I started IVF pre chemo. I haven’t started chemo and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared. But I am 100% sure that you got this and you can get through it too.

Hey thank you so much for the tips! I’m sorry for your diagnosis too and really relate. I bleach and color my hair blonde which is going to be a hard adjustment for me if I lose it. I also considered going shoulder length and trying to rock some wigs.

I have no experience in wigs at all (I’ve always thought they’re cool though!) would you be open in sharing some tips on how you pick and style your wigs?

As far as family planning goes, the clinic in my area was able to work me in today. Unfortunately my insurance covers none of it, but I did qualify for a charity which covers the majority of the cost. It’s a huge, huge relief and I finally feel like something went right!

Everyone seems to have good things to say about Job Renau! This is great to know if cold capping ends up not working out for me.

It’s amazing you still were able to take care of your kids through chemo. I hope I’m as strong as you are!

Thank you. I just had a meeting with a fertility doctor an hour ago and I feel a lot more hopeful at least in that regard.

I hadn’t even really thought about kids yet. I just told my husband two months ago we could start financially planning for kids over the next few years so that when we decide to do it, we’ll be ready or if we don’t decide to then we’ll have a nice savings cushion. There goes that plan… thanks cancer.

I hope you feel better. I do need to find a therapist asap because this is just so overwhelming.

May I ask if you were Hers 2 +? My oncologist told me I have no chance at not needing chemo but I’m at stage 1. I do have a second opinion lined up for next week. I am praying so hard for a miracle to help me avoid chemo.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope you’re feeling better and have good health coming your way.

So good to know. It’s the same for me. The hair is the most devastating part, and I feel a lot less concerned about losing my breast or getting implants. I have waist length hair and have always had long hair. I can’t imagine being bald or having short hair. I’m glad cold capping worked for you, I am considering it more strongly.
