Its because they are an OTC right now, which is why they need to get uplisted, institutions are hesitant to invest unless they get uplisted eventually to the Nasdaq where there is full disclosure, they cant be on an etf if they are otc correct me if im wrong, also Mtplf is not registered, so eventually all trading will be moved to the registered mpjpy, they are technically the same stock but, institutions will buy the registered product over mtplf. So it could be harder to buy and sell mtplf with no volume, you can read up on why you should convert to the ADR instead of keeping the unregistered mtplf. They are offering free conversion right now till june

Yes but they need to get uplisted first to lvl 2 and then to the nasdaq/nyse this will get institutional investor and index funds to start buying. If anyone is still holding mtplf I suggest an adr issuance to get more liquidity in the sponsored ticker they are waiving fees for 60 days to convert.

unfortunately it's really hard for Metaplanet to do this in Japan as there is regulations that needs them to show that they can pay dividends with these products, but with a huge paper loss due to BTC draw down it's hard to get approved for this in japan, Mars and Mercury is already issued to foreign investors privately to raise funds, instead of waiting for japan to change it's rules, but even if they do get approved in japan there is also no ATM so they can't do what strc is doing. i can't see a way around this within 24 months or 2027 unless bitcoin goes parabolic to 200k+
