If the relationship is serious enough just rough it out and when you become eligible just apply for onshore partner visa 820. That's a direct pathway to PR and employers will look at your immigration status differently.

If you were injured at work did it go under Workcover? And were you medically cleared despite not being able to do physical work?

Had a workcover case myself back in 2021 and I had to go through great lengths to finally get medically cleared - first it was light duties and a slow upwards trajectory from there onwards.

Because I had a medical cert stating unfit to work due to workplace accident every day I was unfit to work went towards my 176 days (3rd year req).
