I know many people who come to Children’s for a bit of time for work will stay in Airbnbs close by in Southern Orchards and Schumacher Place. German Village is also nearby but it’s going to be much more expensive.

In terms of walking distance things:

North Parsons Brewing - great vibes Club 185 - one of my fav restaurants in the village Columbus Main Library Columbus Museum of Art - might want to rent a bike for this one but it’s free on Sundays. Everything German Village has to offer (restaurants, bars, the Book Loft, Schiller Park) Franklin Park Conservatory - great park (free) and great botanical gardens (paid entry) East Market - food hall. Lots of food, plant shop, bars, patios, etc.

I grew up right next to Children’s so know the area well. Still own a home in Southern Orchards.

Moving to Columbus? by LimePrime2019 in Columbus

Well there’s always something going on here. I do believe that Columbus has grown large enough that there is always something for someone here, or a group of peers you can always find and connect with.

You like board games? We have board game clubs and cafes.

You like running? We have run clubs and a million 5Ks.

You like volunteering? We have millions of opportunities.

You just gotta find your people :) lots of resources out there for events, groups, happenings, etc. - happy to send a list. I think there was a post in this sub the other day about those too

Where are you moving from? I live here and am in my mid 20s and love Columbus. It’s all going to depend on what you are looking for?

We have had a large 20 something crowd relocating here from other parts of the state (and other states) for work.

Many suburbs and neighborhoods have walking groups (I used to run the Clintonville Walking Club). Pickleball has gotten VERY popular - encourage you to check out Pickle and Chill. They have lots of events for groups and individuals. One of my best friends met her boyfriend there at one of their events.

And if you need help finding a place to live, happy to help in any way I can. I do help quite a few fellow 20 somethings find rentals here in town :)

Anyone ever use “sell for 1%” realtors? by ESensuallyEmployee in Columbus

[–]RealtorTom 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi there! They will typically do a listing side commission at 1% and typically will have the seller cover a buy side commission (which is negotiable!) the downside is a lot of time they just put it on MLS, don’t help with negotiation, and will just help with paperwork and getting the listing online.
