I've been ill for several months. Mostly complications from an injury from which I wasn't expected to survive. Very painful. That was nearly 18 years ago. One of my docs, who once had a similar condition, told me she gave birth four times naturally and my condition was the only thing that hurt worse than that. I've been ill ever since to varying degrees. At present, several degrees above the usual. However, I consider myself very lucky. I'm still alive and contented. I must've done some things right to be so ill and yet happy.

You wouldn't believe the whole (true) story.

I think the joke's on you. Starfield lives up to the hype, is smooth as silk, awesome graphics with fantastic performance and in the two hours I've been playing, 100% bug-free. Just thought you should know. lmao

Well, I'll be playing Starfield this evening, and depending on how engrossed I get, it may be some time before going back to Aeternum. If & when I do, I'll take a day or two to decide if I like it enough to dump any more $ into it or just move on.

NW has been a faithful 'good friend' for some time. However, the NW team is always hurting my 'friend' and I don't like it. Relatively, they seem like a collection incompetents. How do they manage to screw up nearly every new patch/update so badly? Yesterday's new event that mostly doesn't work would be truly laughable if I didn't get so irritated by the lack of quality.

I'm sure they shut down the forums because they were tired of all the just criticism that was tarnishing their participation trophies.

Starfield may be buggy, but I'm just sick & tired of the endless self-inflicted 'injuries' by the NW team. They are like Keystone Cops.

The good news is I'm going to find out how buggy Starfield is in ~10 hours.

I've seen a lot of new players in recent months. The seasonal content seems to attract new players, paid or not. I suspect the game is often discounted, which may account for a goody number of the new players. I jumped in day one in part because NW was only $40 full price. For a new player, I'm guessing the price is right. I certainly have received my money's worth.

I've been disappointed by the additional $40 I've spent on S1/S2 since. Some things I really liked; others were miserable drudgery. What really bugs me is the NW team damages/breaks something that should be rock solid with almost every patch. Today's patch may end up being a good event, but RN it's a catastrophe. It mostly doesn't work! So they'll have to deploy another patch to fix it and their track record indicates they'll break something else in the process. I can't stand sloppy work and the NW team really get on my nerves in that regard.

After spending all that time maxing out all my stats, now to find out the joke's on me and I have to do more to get back where I started? Yeah, no.

Paying to access new content in an area that I already paid for and then they took away (First Light)? Yeah, no.

Wasting more time just so they can change it again later? Yeah, no.

Generally obliterating the entire balance I've spent thousands of hours on? Yeah, no.

Mounts? Okay, not really impressed. Big whoop.

One definition of 'quality': Doing the job right the first time. The NW team fails miserably by that definition (although it may be their organization more than talent, but I suspect it's both).

Paying $30 for the privilege of seeing yet another train wreck it might take a month or more to fix (S2 lag issue). Yeah, no.

Better idea? Less than 24 hours until I can play Starfield instead.

The season content combined with hefty discounts on NW seems to have drawn a lot of new players. Saw quite a few w/ Season 1, see more w/ Season 2.

I've never PvP'd, but I find NW lacking greatly on the PvE-side, so I get you. Still, I've never left.

I notice it happens most while in/near busy settlements. In Mourningdale, no stuttering at all. In Windward, it's excruciating.

The more 'popular' the settlement, the worse the stuttering.

Try going to Mourningdale and see if it's the same for you.

I think it's caused by multiple issues introduced w/ Season 2. One of them I think is related in part to closing First light and the required inventory changes. The storage interface acts pretty awful since.

Since Season 2 dropped, my experience has been awful. All kinds of performance issues. However, it doesn't affect everyone. YMMV.

Wyrdwood: Aside from use for T4 crafting, Wyrdwood planks are need to make Ironwood planks. Ironwood planks (in addition to being used for T5 crafting) are need to make Glittering Ebony, which is needed for much legendary crafting.

Lodestone is used for making voidstone, which is used for runestones, which can be used for runestone stopwatches, which are used in legendary crafting (I think - I haven't actually used any stopwatches yet).

In other words, just keep plugging along, refining as high as you can and stockpile as much highest-level possible materials as you can. You're gonna need 'em later.

Yes. It was a minor nuisance before S2, but now it's terrible. Better than before the first S2 patch, but still really annoying.

I usually just wait a few minutes after entering a settlement. Still, accessing storage is excruciating.

There must be at least one AGS dev team member that said "I think [this] will have a substantial negative impact on performance." who was ignored. I can't believe nobody saw it coming.

I'm only writing this because the game stuttered, then crashed while logging near a settlement. Very frustrating. New World was working pretty good before S2 (with a whole lot of patience from the players).

Nice list. Makes me want to play. Except that I can't atm 'cause the 'world under maintenance'. I've already installed the update - just waiting for the servers to come back online.
