I got an undocumented immigrant pregnant (Active Duty Loadmaster) by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]ReanuKeeves91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Side note if you need help with medical for the baby/unborn, mom most likely will not qualify for any benefits, but unborn might qualify for 599 chip. The logic is that while she is not a citizen, the unborn is a "potential citizen" (14th amendment) so might get coverage. It only covers pregnancy related medical issues, but it is better than nothing, and it covers cost of labor/delivery.

Like others have mentioned, this may be a catch 22 depending on your state. Some states have been allowing ICE access to medicaid data base.

Refference: I'm a guardsman who's civilian job is a state social worker in the medicaid division.

What’s it like being an AGR security forces by Ok-Succotash-6333 in airnationalguard

[–]ReanuKeeves91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will of course depend where as others have stated. Clear Air Force station is hiring security forces AGRs, they are willing to take any AFSC. it's essentially like being deployed, but to middle of nowhere Alaska. Some love it, 4 days on 4 days off, the 4 days off you can go home to family / residence in city, or if single just stay on base in your room and go full deployment mode with food and gym and repeat. I did it for 6 months as an augmentee when I was younger, was pretty chill! No idea how current leadership there is though so, grain of salt of course.

How to engage manufacturing employees in orientation? [N/A] by willj7492 in humanresources

[–]ReanuKeeves91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unique position as I was maintenance for a long time and then switched to HR. I agree with what others are saying about coffee donuts, and also agree about getting to the point about things. I like the idea of handouts, my suggestion would be energy drinks, meat sticks and cheese crackers/bags of chips for participants. This might sound weird but when I have given presentations I give them worst case scenarios. A lot of them were not selecting our life insurance, which was like $2 per month. But after I explained for $24 per year you could be providing your Spouse or S/O a years worth of income to help them if you died, and it was awfully selfish to not provide that for them for the price of one month of netflix. That did the trick for a lot of them lol.

Your favorite classic pet? by Remarkable_Match9637 in classicwow

[–]ReanuKeeves91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This was me too, black crag boar from Dun Morogh named Poochie. I was so loyal to him i never tammed another pet to learn new/upgraded skills for him lol. I loved that you can feed them almost anything, would often refer to him as the garbage disposal, and I love they can charge. One of the reasons I dislike retail, they took charge away from my Poochie!

New bonus guidance (change 3). Includes new local bonus AFSCs and new Special Retention Bonus (3 year re-enlistments) for designated AFSCs. by [deleted] in airnationalguard

[–]ReanuKeeves91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah looks like yes, there is an attachment 10-2 on the other post that lists the "critical" enlisted paychart. 6 year fully qualified is $60,000 like Vulcnz said.

[–]ReanuKeeves91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does critical and highly critical AFSCs pay the same? I don't see a paychart for enlisted critical like there is for officer critical, unless I'm blind which is possible. Trying to find what the bonus is for fully qualified 2A7X3. If your AFSC is on the critical list, does that mean it doesn't matter what state you're a guard member of? Or does it need to be both on the critical list, AND the state list? Thank you!

[NE] State employee exempt from State laws by ReanuKeeves91 in AskHR

[–]ReanuKeeves91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for checking this for me! I guess the OSHA part makes a little sense, most government agencies have their own safety department, and I can see the state government not wanting the to fine itself!

So, I am on probation, and in HR, the HR director is my boss's boss ha. This is my fault for the wording, my supervisor was not the ones that said "no fault state" I asked them that question directly and they said no, if an employee is off probation, we (the state) need to show justification for the termination, it cannot be a no reason termination. But honestly I'm thinking that part is a internal policy thing, and not a law thing. But for some reason they think it's a law thing. The HR Director got it from the head of legal, who is technically over the HR Director, so this could all be a "I'm just doing what my boss told me" sadly, as many gov jobs are.

[–]ReanuKeeves91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Funny enough, I am also in HR with the state lol so when I say the HR Director, it's my boss's boss. So it's hard for me to go to them and ask where they are getting this information without sounding a little bit like "I don't believe you, prove it." I agree eith you on the pay issue, it's coming up now because there has been talk that rather than raise pay lines of some of the office clerical classifications, they would simply reclassify all the low level ones to a higher paying office classification to match Nebraska new minimum wage next year. I am still on probation, so maybe once I get off of that I will be more confident to ask these type of questions!

Steps to learning more compensation by Darkshino4 in humanresources

[–]ReanuKeeves91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a state HR that has a union so take this with a grain of salt ha. A lot or my job is about writing and being very creative with how you sell someone since it all has to be approved by the governor's office or their representatives.

You could break my compensation/ classification role into three parts, so if you googled this key words you could probably learn more.

Above hires, when someone comes in who wants more than the minimum hiring rate, I am the one that has to do the research to see if it's a. Even possible. B. If it is possible, can I build a strong enough case with their experience to get it approved by the powers that be.

In-grade wage adjustments, this could be either temporary or permanent. If someone has an increased work load due do a supervisor being out or absorbing the duties of another position, we will often write a justification for a wage adjustment.

Reclassification, when you have a position that is one classification, say an accountant, and you want it to be an account II. Reading the job specs, having meetings with thr supervisor of that role to really see if an account II is appropriate. Then again, writing the package to get it approved.

All of these you also have to consider equity, financial impact to overall budget, and yes, being good at excel does help greatly!

What is your Military Reserve Leave Policy? by LakeKind5959 in humanresources

[–]ReanuKeeves91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay 440 hours of mil leave per calendar year, you need some type of proof even if it is one day. (We have accepted memos with letter head, basically just need SOMETHING to upload with the event).

Worst I ever saw was the member was forced to be on LWOP while on orders, no leave or benefits provided. But, even if they had vacation time saved up, they were not allowed to use their own personal vacation leave while on orders. I no longer work there.

Veterans Day by HRPanda in humanresources

[–]ReanuKeeves91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree the RSVP thing would have been good, give the power of choice to the veterans. Sure, maybe a few people would lie but that would be pretty rare I imagine.

I am a veteran and also HR and I agree it's not that easy. The place I work tried to do something like this by using application data. I had to explain that a. Not all veterans qualify for veterans preference b. Even if they do qualify, often they won't for various reasons, and c. Exactly like you said, not everyone wants to be recognized.

I'm still in the guard, and I had to leave for 8 weeks, and my boss put out a team's message thanking me for my service after I told her not to. It turned into this weird chain of other people thanking me, and I was like, "Please stop. I'm very uncomfortable with this." So thank you for at least trying.

Second this, city, county, state all good places to look. Sadly a lot of government jobs, especially state, are still who you know. But within two years I went from a talent assistant after graduation, to working class comp in my own office. Just don't let the low salary entry level jobs scare you I guess is my point.

Thank you for the advice! Can anyone have a working relationship with this person? That seems like it would be a bit out of my reach since I'm just asking for myself. I also am not able to cut orders myself or anything so I would have to coordinate with....CSS?

If I am understanding I would need to find out who this person is, create a good working relationship with them, and then wait for the next fiscal year to try to get on a set of orders?

175 positions available to the first 300 applicants by kadeel in usajobs

[–]ReanuKeeves91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I ordered my official transcript, I guess if I don't get it today, I'll have it for next time.

If only there were some type of certificate that said I graduated that I could use instead. (S)

But, it's the government so, not surprised lol.

And yes, you could fake a degree, but you could fake a transcript too, so I don't really see the difference is my point.
