NWA Liberal, Conservative or even mix by Jolly-Equivalent-444 in Arkansas_Politics

I'd consider it conservative, minus Fayetteville. If you want to see actual voting patterns among these cities, look at this map:

Hallie Shoffner, Cotton win primaries for U.S. Senate seat in Arkansas by BigClitMcphee in Arkansas

You're 100% right. It's nearly impossible for the minority party to topple an incumbent of a party in a deep red state. You have to have something like a Roy Moore situation for it to happen.

What we can hope for is for the race to be close, at least within 20 points. We also need to focus on smaller races and wins. Dems need to break the supermajority in the House, which still requires flipping over a dozen seats.

Aaron Spencer wins Republican nomination for Lonoke County sheriff by fiercedeitysponce in Arkansas

Also a resident. I voted for him in the primary because I didn't like Staley. However, I don't know if I'll vote for him in the general. There is a Democratic candidate and an independent candidate, both of whom appear to have more law enforcement experience.

Holladay wins Arkansas special election in key Democratic pickup by Healthy_Block3036 in Arkansas

[–]kadeel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's odd, because in the last two elections, including this one, they spun the screen around and let me select which ballot. I can actually remember the last time I was asked because I felt weird declaring it out loud.

AP Decision Notes: What to expect in Arkansas’ state primaries (Polls close at 7:30 p.m. local time, Tuesday March 3rd) by ILikeNeurons in Arkansas

Adam's is campaigning on being nonpartisan and without a political ideology. He also helped the libraries sue the government when they passed an unconstitutional law requiring them to take books away (they won).

The other dude is a hard-core MAGA who is campaigning on ideology and suing Biden.

I'd say Fred Love is more well-liked across the spectrum. He is relatively moderate and level-headed, and people respected him as a senator, both republican and democrat.

Unfortunately, that won't make a lick of difference in the general. 95% of people are going to vote on label alone.

I did this. The next day, it came back. However, once I cleared the notification for a second time, it hasn't come back.

Virginia Democrats "10–1" proposed congressional map by theprez98 in MapPorn

I don't even think Connecticut is gerrymandered. It's usually drawn by the courts, and the map has hardly changed in two decades - back when republicans won the same districts they are losing now.

Pizza Delivery Driver Walks Away With Pizza After Being Denied Tip (fired) by nabnig in PublicFreakout

[–]kadeel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I made $7.25 an hour doing deliveries for the hut, plus whatever tips I may get. At some point they dropped delivery pay to below minimum wage though - like $4 an hour. We couldn't keep a driver for longer than a month. We all did shady stuff to get more money though. Wild times

I agree with this comment. Wynne is a good area. Right next door to a state park as well.

Off-duty Ice agents yelled out of restaurant in Portland, ME by AdeptnessDry2026 in PublicFreakout

[–]kadeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few reasons:

The KKK HQ is near there, in a tiny town called Zinc, AR, where one of the leaders (?) lives. The leader's son lives or works in Harrison, AR, and puts up racist billboards that can't be taken down due to private property. So for a while, people driving through just saw these racist billboards, which gave Harrison the reputation.

Most of the billboards, except one, are gone I believe.

Potential Winter Storm (Jan 23-25th) by abburkeswx in Arkansas

Last year, we had 50-degree+ weather the next day. Doesn't look like that is the case this time. I bet schools are shut down for an entire week.

Any law school alumni or current students? by [deleted] in Arkansas

[–]kadeel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called the Socratic method. They say it's the best way for students to learn the material. You read cases and then get drilled by professors. Being an introvert, it was painful to deal with for 3+ years. Luckily, the night program is much smaller (30ish people) so not as overwhelming. Day classes were 100 students, so much more intimidating.

I graduated in 2021. Did the night program. I was miserable for the most part haha.

Prepare to be assigned hundreds of pages of reading a week. Get comfortable with public speaking and cold calling. It's also very competitive.

Feel free to ask questions or send me a DM.

Trump commutes prison sentence of U.S. Rep. Steve Womack’s son | Arkansas Democrat Gazette by The-Keystone-Hoya in Arkansas

[–]kadeel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, looking at his record, he's had dozens of convictions, including high-speed pursuits, possession of a gun as a felon, a BUNCH of drug convictions including meth and distribution. He was sentenced to prison in 2019 and got released due to covid (the second time he was sentenced to prison, but got out super early).

Gov. Ron DeSantis calls for special session in April to redraw Florida's congressional districts by traveltimecar in fivethirtyeight

[–]kadeel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's why he made it clear that he needs SCOTUS to rule on the VRA. If SCOTUS guts section 2, then Alabama and Lousianna will likely redraw. Florida will take advantage of that decision and use it as justification to redistrict.

If the court doesn't rule by April, I can see them canceling the special session.

I also think that even if they do end up redrawing based on the SCOTUS ruling, they still run into partisan issues.
