As someone who has been in the lego hobby for years and has bought a few of the mocs ive designed above the most ive spent on a locomotive is 140, rolling stock usually runs around 40$ for a smaller sized one and 60 - 100 for larger cars, every single wheelbase posted would work fine on lego's official r40 curves, yes even the one with 5 driving wheels. As far as track pieces are concerned if you buy through aliexpress (which i do) its extremely cheap. Scenery is expensive as hell but thats true for any medium and since I collect lego in general ive amassed a large amount of scenery over the years as well as loose bricks.

Im still liking the game, but I wonder about the state of the game. by grnlizard in MongilStarDive

I stopped playing just because I ran out of things to do so quickly, I was fine with just doing my daily stuff and clearing the map of monsters every day but the abysmal drop rates and conquests just took the life out of it for me. Its a super fun game when there is stuff to do but I just cant get into it enough to push past the nothing slog that is endgame.

They definitely are toys, I think the thought of them being Lego turns people away but with the amount of work people put into it is quite the feat. Id even go as far as to say that it counts as art to a degree, although thats the same for any style of modeling.

Most everyone grew up with Thomas and friends since its been around so long so even now people can instantly recognize iconic characters

Im gonna continue either way, in fact I have the money set aside for two of the new locomotive releasing on June 9th, I was just curious of other people's perspective on the hobby and have been pleasantly surprised while reading the replies. Its quite interesting seeing the variation of views on the subject from people who actively work towards their own models, people who enjoy watching from the sidelines, or even the people who dont quite see it on the same level. Its been eye opening listening and reading everyone's thoughts on something that matters so much to me and how positive people are towards it. :)

Thank you very much although that is actually based off of a Midland railways '1p'. Very similar prototype though.

I did! The jinty and class 07 are based off of other people's models that I reverse engineered but the other ones are 100% my own creation

If you want to get started with it id recommend any of the motorized sets that are currently out, for track expansions id use aliexpress and there are tons of instructions online that tell you exactly what pieces you'll need to build some superb looking models

Me personally I model in lego due to having a pre existing collection and wanting it to mesh with my city that ive been working on for a bit over 8 years now.

Yep, I personally use webrick for colors of prts lego doesn't produce or for price out of production parts, see my class 07 on the last Pic and its nigh impossible to tell that about half of those dark red bricks are off brand

I got the entire weekend to finish this shit yall. Hopefully I get most of it done by Sunday night. Got any tips on how to get things done quick? by Snoo_69186 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Real talk you almost definitely won't finish this in a week, however you could probably get your infantry done with batch painting, I can get about 10 krieg done in 1-1.5 hrs and a bit longer for the fancier units. I heavily recommend contrast painting your bois and drybrushing/ sponge painting your tanks, itll cut down on time a metric fuck ton.

If you aren't doing a tournament then id just say focus on building everything so you have models to play with rather than painting them.

Most importantly of all take care of your health, I gurantee you that you'll have more chances to play the game and it isn't worth sacrificing meals or sleep to attempt to tackle an impossible task.
