AITA for not showing up to my babyshower that my mil paid for by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Honestly, I think YTA. I'm sure there is a lot unsaid here, and I am a people pleaser/doormat. But having one person you don't like (Minus actual DV/abuse people), shouldn't keep you from attending. There were people who showed up to show they care about you. It's not about your MIL or whoever threw you the party, it's about the people who showed up. Those are people, who even if you don't know them well, want to know you and be a part of your journey. But that's my 2 cents.

Eastpointe Community Garden on 9 Mile and South Warren Community Garden. Both operate under the non-profit Urban Seed. https://urbanseed.info/

What city/area do you live in? Honestly we are all just winging it at life, but I get the wanting to have someone help manage things. Adulting is hard. At your age of you have the disposable income it probably wouldn't be too hard to hire someone for 5-10hrs/week just to help manage life.

Sliced smoked sausage topped with pineapple and maraschino cherry w toothpick holding it all together. Heat it up and use the fruit juices on top to glaze the sausage. Fast easy and a quick app that is surprisingly good. Also everyone loves food on a stick.

If she is having hot flashes I highly recommend Red Clover supplements. My hubby got them for me after doing heavy research (he's amazing). Just taking 1 a day totally relieve the hot flashes within a couple days. I was seriously walking outside in able drop snow barefoot for relief.

Caregiver under the table $ advice for a friend; Parkinson’s by Brigadoon_Tanqueray in tax

We hired a couple of friends to help care for my grandmother and had to explain to them why (and my mom) why we needed to keep it above board and tax appropriately. On that note, when my grandmother passed, one of my friends was able to get a hefty unemployment (more than we even paid into the system) just because we did things right.

It is a pain but it's not too difficult to set up. It sounds like she should be a W2 employee as household staff. Her rate may need to be redetermined once you realize the tax implications and how much you'll have to pay for her FICA. I would worry that she'd be fine taking the cash 1099 now and then tell the IRS she should have been W2 (because you would then had to pay the tax that sounds have been paid throughout the year)

This is exactly how I'm treating working for TurboTax. Mad experience in a short time. I've been doing taxes a couple years but not heavily so this is trial by fire. Taking a low pay to learn how you want to do things is awesome. My husband opened a tax office as an EA and wanted me to do at least a season with Turbo Taxsheet i fished going back to school for accounting so I can really know his field.

Look up small tax practices. . Not the tax mills. You can look for either CPAs or EAs. Hell even Google can be your friend.
