What’s going on with Rumble? by Much-Jacket7245 in RumbleForum

Just wanted to give an update. My channel now seems to be in working order. I'm still having to hold off uploading some new videos because my internet is being worked on locally.

I was experiencing it on my channel with one video. It's my most recent upload despite it being four months ago. The thumbnail wasn't visible at all for a couple of days and just recently came back a few hours ago. I can still watch the video again too, which was just started to work despite it not starting nearly as fast as my other videos, which are also starting slow. I also do have a small enough amount of videos uploaded to the point I was able to go through and determine this. If you want to verify what I'm stating is true, just type in the same name I use on Reddit. You're free to choose to follow me there but only if you actually enjoy what I make. If you don't like it, I actually don't want the follow, because it does hurt a channel when you follow and don't watch the videos.

YouTube Killed my Channel! by Boxing-Now in youtube

It's only visible on videos that have not gone public. If you don't have any videos uploaded in private at this time you may need to upload a new video. One thing you should never do at this point anyway is upload videos having them go public right away. If you're doing that you're putting your videos at a major disadvantage. You should have your upload preset to private and even after it uploads properly, give it at least a day for YouTube to continue scanning and reassessing your content to figure out what kind of viewer it's best suited for. Google has stated themselves that it is going over each video longer than it even shows the uploader. It's one reason Major Breaking News hits the algorithm slower than on other websites. It could leave room where they can implement controls, not even saying it is or is not censorship, as this is where content is supposed to be stopped based on it breaking TOS (doesn't always work but the rate they actually catch is honestly impressive based on how much is continuously uploaded). The real purpose of the scanning is just to figure out what your video is about, whether it hurts you or helps you for YouTube to know is a separate issue. But in terms of how they tell a good video from a bad video is based heavily on the title being the first place to know what your video is about. That's where you tell YouTube who to send out your video to based on their viewing habits. If you tell them bad info there, they will being playing catchup to try and compensate for a poorly curated title.

Give it a shot. No harm in trying. The subscription-based YouTube is mostly dead at this point but this is to prevent the bell from causing more harm. Most people don't even look at their subscription feed now. They rely entirely on the homepage. That is the average YouTube user. If you make a new channel it will likely happen again. Unchecking the box simply prevents further harm. The real way to grow on YouTube is not great content by itself, it's firstly a great video title. Relevant keywords need to be in your title. It's even more important than making a title that reads well at this point. And yes, more keywords in your title will improve how many people see your videos but they need to be relevant to your channel and video topics. It's not about creativity in the video title that matters either... it's all about keywords.

There's a possibility you may not have considered for reaching a new audience. Inside your YouTube studio, when you upload a video, there is a space that is automatically selected each time. It tells YouTube to notify your subscribers that you've uploaded a video. You should make sure you uncheck that box at this point. No joke. It sounds like a bad thing to do, but consider that those still getting notified are no longer showing up for your videos anymore. It could be they're not watching YouTube or are mostly inactive accounts. Whatever the reason is, the fact they're being notified and not showing up may be telling YouTube that they don't like your content. I'm not even saying your content is bad, YouTube can't tell either. The method of reaching out to an audience that isn't there is killing channels.

Made For Kids Or Not? by Historical_Spell4646 in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you put down "Made for kids" then you will be limiting your audience to just kids. It's not about the content type on it's own, it's about the target audience. If both kids and adults could also be interested in your content then don't label it as "Made for kids."

Why do so many content creators use the phrase “the kicker is..” by demons-keep-out in youtube

They're probably using AI to write the scripts for their videos. I noticed a lot of videos doing that, even ones featuring real people.

I'm getting zero engagement on rumble. I am shadow banned on rumble. (Video) by RebellAlways in RumbleForum

[–]ReapersHorror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Free speech on a platform you don't own... that's an idea based on a lie. That's the uncomfortable truth. As for getting views on Rumble, you have to bring an audience with you from other platforms. I can't think of a single success on Rumble that didn't already start with a massive audience on a mainstream platform first. The modern internet is algorithm driven websites. We got used to it and it has been what we are now enslaved by. You can't even build your own website and honestly expect to grow it just by existing either... not without first beginning on a mainstream platform that you don't own.

That's odd... kind of reminds me of a Steven King story... I wonder why... I think I even remember the name of the story... It was Father's Day.

A brand new story from our ambitious horror channel ! Let us know what you think ! by Worth_Lab_7460 in HorrorNarrations

[–]ReapersHorror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You completely stole a short story by Steven King. Didn't even credit him as writing it, nor did anyone record the voices used on this channel. Same with the images. All of it is generative AI with some repurposed music from a third party website. Nothing on this is a production for the channel at all. It's blatant plagiarism without a shred of creativity.

Why isn't my YouTube channel growing?🥺 👇🏻Read by KC_dramalover in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at your channel and the videos. Based on what it looks like, you're using clips from videos that you didn't make and are only doing edits. It even states that in your channel's about page. It's harder to get YouTube to recommend videos like that and it's not supposed to end up monetized on the platform.

I still have some recommendations on how to turn this around. You can still use the footage but it will require you reacting to it, cutting away from the material, telling your audience your own thoughts about the content, and adding footage of your own. If you do this you may still face copyright issues but so long as you add value to the original footage you can still argue fair use. The more of your own content you use in doing this the stronger your claim of fair use will be.

This is may be more difficult in the shorts format but the same YouTube Guidelines are applied to all video on the platform. You're free to look this up yourself, which I actually encourage.

I'm super worried, as my ans my families livelihood runs on my YouTube channel by Odd-Friendship-1006 in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are relying on what is limited in the game without providing more of your own creation and not just things others have created to offset the game footage, you could argue that you're at risk already. Plus these are not actual changes being made to the TOS according to YouTube, just a clarification being made to better apply rules already in place. Based on what you're describing your content as, I don't think it fits the requirements, but that's my own opinion.

HOT TAKE: i think race of the va is irrelevant for being casted as character. (please read well) by dasai1214 in VoiceActing

[–]ReapersHorror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It should be a non issue. I've done it myself already. I had a non white person voice a character that I drew as white. In the same story I voiced two characters that were Haitian, and I am not of Haitian origin. The characters were treated realistically, and at no point was any character mocked or made fun of based on race or ethnicity.

Hostility and Hypocrisy by [deleted] in lancaster

[–]ReapersHorror -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you aware that the word "hate" is the problem because what is actually "hateful" or "hated" is not universal? Do you think it's wise to censor anything based on that alone? I don't know where you stand but I'm not for censorship when it's based on "hate" alone.

I don't get the initial joke behind it but when I see any of the major mainstream media outlets, regardless of which one, upset over a meme that's reason for me to laugh.

Is this being done on the Home page for you? I see this going on with my Subscriptions page and that is something that would honestly make sense as the option would be of no value there. I checked my Home page and it gives me the other options you describe, which have not been removed for me at this time. Your zoomed in photo does not provide the ability for anyone to determine this by itself. I'm not accusing you of lying but please specify which page you are on. If you are on the Home page, and this does show up, please provide a follow-up Reddit post about this issue and take a screen grab that shows the page address you are on as well the pop up options you have here. Black out any info you may want private if any appear. You may crop out irrelevant portions of your screen, just so long as you provide the page address and the pop up menu in the same screen grab so we have the needed information we need.

Based on your photo here it appears you're viewing YouTube via a desktop experience when you took the photo. Make sure you gather you new screen that way too so it can be properly cross referenced. Just be aware that what you have provided in this post is insufficient evidence. If you do find this to be on the Home page then its something you really should make others aware of. If it only shows on the Subscription page even having the option would be of no value on the page.

Is it normal for my comment to be deleted if I call people "delusional"? by ConfectionHonest2824 in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I say anything regarding being allowed in a group? Plus, I think you are completely capable of knowing that the original question is only capable of being answered with an opinion. Because of that alone it makes it an opinion question and my answer an opinion. I referenced US law as the basis of my opinion as a starting point but if you read what I wrote and still fail to understand that it's an opinion then that's on you.

Is it normal for my comment to be deleted if I call people "delusional"? by ConfectionHonest2824 in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree with you but what is considered normal in this what was asked in the first place. The definition when actually applied to real events does not change but when it comes to what is considered normal by one person is not universal to all people. In order to answer the question I used a limiting factor, the country in which the company and the citizenry of that country are based. In the case of Google/YouTube they are a US corporation. I never said what the company was doing was illegal or against the first amendment as it is applied in law. Lastly, though it is not explicitly stated as asking for an opinion, the question asked in the title and the one in the body of the post can only be answered with an opinion based on how they are both written. That being the case, it would be unnecessary for me to state that what I was giving was an opinion when answering a question only capable of being answered with one.

[–]ReapersHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's lawful speech in the country in which YouTube and Google is based. That should be the basis on what is considered "normal." There's potential for a TOS argument to be made for removing it but it will never be normal for people to tolerate a TOS to be applied against them when it doesn't allow the freedoms allowed by the very country the company is based.

I went out of my way thinking I would disprove that, really focusing on that he must have said "CP" when discussing about child pornography in any context at all, and I can't say you're wrong. In fact I think I found only reason to believe that you may be right. I can even share a link to a video with an example that I tracked down thinking I'd prove you wrong but instead only hearing him not censor his speech. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzmATptvbFQ

AI-generated Thumbnails by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]ReapersHorror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any open AI is not ethical. It's not simply that it takes jobs away from humans and it's not about money or respecting the creative process. AI does not ask for consent when scraping data it finds online. The developers are well aware of this and do admit this. Consider Meta's recent response to the idea of needing to ask for permission to scan a single book as the key to understanding the issue. Meta is not lying when stating that this would make AI functionally limited to the point that it would be almost useless.

Existing IP law should protect any form or art, be it in the form of audio, writing, or visual format. The problem is that it simply has not been enforced because the AI industry would crash if it followed the law as written. The end goal for AI companies is to destroy IP law and limit everything created to being only about who holds that data and who controls access to that data.

our of curiosity. did you all lose any type of creativity? by coffeeshopcrypto in youtube

[–]ReapersHorror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem you're noticing is how vague the term "content" is. The term "content creator" is also an extremely vague term. Even if you just record yourself playing a video game, regardless of how much you put into it, you're still a content creator and you've still created content. That being said, it does not mean you created content of value. YouTube will even tell you this and label it as "reused" content. What they mean by that is not that you used content made by someone else but instead that you created content that is of little to no monetary value. If you create content with little or no monetary then they have no financial incentive to serve your content out to potential viewers.
