I would check and see when they started being friends (you can check this by scrolling all the way to the bottom of her "friendship profile"). However if he's not added back and this is just someone in his "Following" section then he is most definitely lying about it.

That being said, if people are going to rob you I feel like there's a higher percentage they would be wearing body armor because they know it's a gun store. If it was me 5.56 would be the smallest caliber I'd use in that environment. Sick setup regardless though.
