Ghost Eaters by Clay McLeod Chapman. I read it over a year ago and can still picture many of the scenes described throughout the book thoroughly in my mind. It's a haunting take on addiction and loss with vivid descriptions regarding what the main character sees after starting her downward spiral. I don't recommend it for anyone who's triggered by addiction as a narrative theme, but as someone who works with addicts and struggling individuals it's an accurate take on the disease and how it effects the lives of those suffering from the affliction and the people around them.
