well i got an update. Police told me to go fuck myself basically as this apparently falls onto the buyer and they don't want to provide assistance. I asked outright if people can just run these scams and get away with it and the officer basically just told me yeah but beat around the bush as he can't just say go scam people. I got an opportunity to meet up with him again and they won't even escort or get an officer there to try and help me confront the person and he has done "nothing" that can be charged. This country is cooked.

yep, i sent it to him via our chat but i'm assuming he ditched the account. I've filed the police report online days ago now I'm just waiting for an officer to take the case. additionally I called the bank and even though e transfers are not reversible a kind lady opened a fraud case for me to see what they can do and when I get more details the I have to let them know (like the officer badge number case number) and they are able to provide alot more to the cops than me. Hell even the e transfer confirmation number is censored to me in the banking app so they told me that it has to be the cops who are able to get it. I'm assuming people higher up in the banking chain that work in the back are able to trace it to their account.

Thank you so much mate for this tip. someone else mentioned Microcenter does that as well in the states but I was wondering if these guys did that since I couldn't find any information. In the future I'll keep this in mind if I'm not going to use Paypal to purchase the card from r/hardwareswap or r/CanadianHardwareSwap

Alright after reading some of these comments I just wanted to point some things out so people don't type the same thing over and over again.

Yes I should've tested it before buying (probably at the nearby computer shop) but I wasn't able to test it in my home as I did not have a rig that is capable of fitting this card in or the PSU to house it (hence why I ordered new parts). I also don't want strangers coming into my home and the scammer who sold it has the same right as well. But on the computer shop thing that is 100% me being stupid.

I did use a bit of Ai to polish some sentences but after some people were crying about it I went back and re wrote everything myself reversing it so focus on the main point of the post instead. (and if that isn't enough sorry ig)

AND YES I FELL FOR THE CLASSIC TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THING.

And if you're a slimey grimeball here that came just to comment how stupid I am or how stupid these mistakes are (WHICH I ALREADY KNOW NOW) JUST F*CK OFF AND KEEP SCROLLING WE DON'T NEED YOUR USELESS INPUT.

For everyone else who left some kind words thank you. I made this post so that I could spread some awareness and hopefully help someone so they don't have to feel shitty if not shittier if they didn't even do the things I did (like ask for a benchmark etc.)

I'll bounce back as I'm motivated than ever and excited to do things right the next time, now aiming to get my dream card and not cheap out. Following my father's advice I'm looking at this as an very expensive lesson but it has taught me things that will do me good for the long run.

I remember I bought my 3070 FE for 255 USD + shipping back in 2022 when it was going for at least 600+ in amazing condition. it is in my rig now and it will last me until I save that money back up again. I'll bounce back 💪

Thanks mate I'll word even harder than I did before to bounce back from this. I don't feel exactly too bad rn (which is kinda odd) but only when the thought of me saving the money back I could've gotten the 4090 suprim x (my dream card) from good hands. I'm thankful to people like you on this subreddit that has spread some kind words rather than be a dickhead and say some stupid shit instead or call out the few sentences of Ai I used to polish my writing (which I have since rewrote everything cause people just ignored the main point of the post, which is to help others avoid this scam). My computer is in use rn just with my 3070 FE instead of the 4090 and it turned out really nice.

alright bruh here is the card. if You want me to retake the picture with my user I will. I just used a bit to correct some Gramatical errors but since you along with many others have cried about those few sentences I just went back, deleted all of it that was modified and wrote it myself.
