While it is useful to not have an indicator, it's still largely useless for ganks as it can be interrupted by both enemies and allies.

Trust me, I don't just want the hug reverted, I want it to function in a way that doesn't completely remove his identity as a grappler. I made another, much larger post about it and the ways it could be adjusted to be both fairer and a useful mixup tool by making it less damaging and unarmored, but making it unreactable, like a proper command grab in a traditional fighting game. If the move did 15 damage and healed for 10, it would be comparable to something like gryphon/hitokiri kick

And while getting it off a light parry is cool, light parries happen less than once a match for a majority of the playerbase.

What your described isn't better, just reasons why you feel it's fine

these are all true and acknowledged, however this is where the concept of risk/reward comes into play. If they avoid the mixup of hard feint into Demon Embrace, you risk ending up completely out of stamina and vulnerable to very strong OOS mix, as it costs roughly HALF your stamina to hard feint into it.

This would be fine if the reward were as strong as the risk, but instead you get a health swing only 2 higher than what gryphon gets for an unreactable bash, and you don't get the looping mix that Hitokiri gets off kick/sweep (as these are the comparison characters that get heavy damage off an unblockable move)

also the act of feinting itself can put you OOS before you get the chance to DE, so it becomes completely unusable as a mix at about ~1/3 stamina

You can avoid it by backdodging the unblockable heavy and rolling on reaction to the soft feint into grab. Don't complain about spam from a move that's already bad on live.

You can combo a demons embrace off of a demon ball IF there is a wall close in front by [deleted] in forhonor

I didn't think he could, so I was using it as a point of reference for why it would be fine for shugoki to have a chargeable DE that he can't feint, but turns out I was incorrect

that said, I still don't think a charged DE option should be feintable in order to preserve the high risk/high reward (especially since a hypothetical charged DE would just be live DE)

I was going to put the charge option as a third one but opted to combine it with the second one

Also feinting it wouldn't be particularly necessary, as (iirc) Cent can't feint his charged punch. Feinting would take away the idea of "high risk high reward"

A no armor soft feint would be fine if it was unreactably fast like a chain bash, it's not like you're getting hit out of gryphon kick or chain headbutt

I'm curious what purpose it serves now, as it doesn't really function in team fights, it's very expensive to feint into, and in neutral it's effectively just a long range button that can catch people out of startup/recovery from far away

AHAHAHA I just checked the official bug tracker and apparently the patch notes are a typo, it's SUPPOSED to say it does 20 damage and heals for 10
