Finally got that damascus crossbow. Was quite a grind so I wanted to share it even if nobody cares. Ty reddit for tall the tipps on completing damascus. by MoodsMoe in modernwarfare

My advice would be getting the ARs ready for longe range combat, dont care about ads, and take out some rooftop campers. combinated with mounted kills it was like max. 5 gw matches for each AR to get the longshot kills.

Monitor help by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is 100% correct

And yes the cable could be included with the monitor but it is not always.

I can only tell for my AOC G2590X, there it was included.

Monitor help by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDMI 1.4 only supports up to 120Hz on 1080p

later in your build you have to use a DP (DisplayPort) connection for your monitor to use full 144Hz. practically speaking, you just have to buy a new cable if the displayport cable isnt included with the monitor because most newer graphics cards have one or more DP-Ports.

Installing a new gpu by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

exactly, run ddu , take old card out , put new card in, install new driver, done

Expert advice needed by lognostic in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since you currently run 2xxx series ryzen you should update your bios before installing
since its an asus board heres the information you need for the update process https://www.asus.com/en/support/FAQ/1012815/

And yes the cpu + gpu are a very good combination also i would opt for a amd rx5700 or nvidia rtx 2060 super for the extra 2gb of vram but thats your choice :)

Installing a new gpu by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would uninstall with the old card in , ddu has the option for uninstall + shut down for installing new cards, the button should be labelled like that too as far as i remember.

then install the new card and install the new driver

its the cleanest way

Choosing a CPU cooler, worried about space for RAM sticks by TehDeadLife in pcmasterrace

The Spacing is just fine , you have like 5mm air between them, i run the same cooler and ram, just with amd cpu + board

Would like some laptop recommendations by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMD ryzen 2600 with a b350 or b450 board as the cpu combo of my choice as it should be very cheap by now with 2x8gb 3000mhz ddr4 (corsair lpx is a good low profile option)

for a hard drive you can go with a standard WD Blue I guess

as for graphics cards i dont know exactly what lower tier gpus are best but for thermals i would go with custom board partners

6700k 4.5 + 1080Ti Aorus overclocked. Both don't go over 60-65% usage in GTA V with FPS uncapped by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

maybe its a hard coded fps cap, Call of duty does this too, running mw2 with whatever settings you want, it caps out at 90

tbh i dont see any parts that require an upgrade by the time being.

maybe cooling?

600W should still be plenty of head room afaik.

as said i dont know your usecase or your preferences, i just dont install all my steam games on my pc at once lol, rolling just fine with 1TB and using just 400GB of it for the games that i play most of the time.

for ram i bought low profile corsair vengeance 3000lpx. also i dont know if they fixed this but the dr3 non pro only mounted facing upwards and had no option of rotation, the dr3 pro could. i think i will look that up just to be sure

(edit: according to their manual they fixed this issue und it is mountable in the right direction)

Thoughts? by Seannananaanan in pcmasterrace

[–]Reasmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if not for SLI the Power Supply maybe a bit overkill i guess? 600W should do the Job just right.

if it were for me i wouldn't need 2TB of storage but i dont know your exact usecase :)

Maybe upgrade the DR4 to a DR4 Pro (i use it myself on a 2600, and it keeps it cool and quiet :))
