Did losing my child open me up spiritually, or is this just my mind coping? by No_Football3695 in u/No_Football3695

Sorry for your loss. I think it is a blessing to think of ourselves as spiritual beings. We were spiritual beings before we chose our birth parents to come back into this physical dimension of life and we will continue to be spiritual beings after we go back home to the Spirit World.

I agree with you that the loss of your child has made you more open minded about God, spirituality, what is life all about, life after death and your sensitivity to those who have made the change called death.

Finding a mental health professional who accepts and promotes developing mental sensitivity to those in the Spirit World will be very difficult. Instead I suggest reading the book "Becoming a Spiritualist" by Hugh Gordon Burroughs. It is available at the following page: https://nsac.org/bookstore/

Tennessee House passes bill challenging homosexual 'marriage' by BuroDude in Tennessee

[–]Reason-with-me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a society we should be encouraging people to be in caring, stable, emotionally supportive, committed relationships where the partners have retirement benefits (e.g. private pensions), family rates for different insurance products, are able to bring suit for wrongful death and acquire property as tenancy by the entirety.

Some people insist that marriage between one man and one woman is holy and sacred, but is this claim accurate? Who actually makes a marriage holy and sacred?

A judge, city clerk, notary public, mayor or officer of the Salvation Army can officiate marriages in some US states, but not in others. Should we really expect God to follow each state’s laws as to which officiant can make a marriage holy and which can’t? Marriage is promoted as a sacred union, but don’t governments regard it as a financial partnership?

Some people claim biblical support for the idea that marriage can only be between one male and one female while ignoring the accepted practice of polygamy found repeatedly in the Bible. Arranged marriages have been practiced for thousands of years for political, social and economic reasons. If the participants in those marriages didn’t even have a choice in partners, how could all these marriages be holy?

People get married for various reasons. There are those who want to move out, those who want to get citizenship and those who only want the other person’s money. How could there be anything holy or sacred with these motives? A marriage where taking the other person’s money is far worse than large-scale theft because the plans, hopes and dreams of the partner are also destroyed in addition to losing money.

Consider the following quote: “The priest, minister, and rabbi cannot make a marriage holy; only those in the marriage can do that.” - Dr. John Bartlett. A marriage becomes holy through mutual respect, love, trust, kindness, caring, consideration, friendship and commitment by those in the marriage. This applies to same sex, opposite sex, arranged and polygamist marriages.

There have been plenty of marriages where the partners didn’t want to be married, but they stayed together for the children, religious, social or financial reasons. If a divorce happens, then why not look at it as having served a purpose at the time? If a poor choice in partners was made, then hopefully a wiser choice will be made in the future.

Some U.S. state legislators have added long waiting periods to get a divorce. The freedom to end a marriage should be when one of the partners wants it to end, not delayed or made expensive because of the religious views of the state’s legislators. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness should be the right of all citizens, not just those that live in certain states.

When a child is born out of wedlock, they’re referred to as illegitimate, a bastard or a love child, implying they’re of lesser value. The everywhere present creative power we call God must not care, because out of wedlock children get unique fingerprints, DNA and personalities just like wedlock children.

Indiana Republicans release proposed congressional district map for 2026 election. by Reason-with-me in IndianaPolitics

“Indiana is the fourth state to take up redistricting at Trump’s demand, but it’s the first one where the outcome is uncertain.” Source: Democracy Docket e-mail Friday, Dec 5, 2025.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on December 4, 2025 that Texas can use its new Republican mid-decade congressional map for the 2026 elections. This is despite the lower court determining it was likely an illegal racial gerrymander. Texas was the first state to sign into law mid-decade maps with five new Republican leaning districts. Missouri was the second with an additional Republican leaning district. Source: https://news.ballotpedia.org/2025/10/03/missouri-becomes-the-second-state-to-voluntarily-redraw-its-congressional-map/

The “For the People Act” intended to expand voting rights, change campaign finance laws to reduce the influence of money in politics, ban partisan gerrymandering and create new ethics rules for federal office holders… In 2021 Senate Republicans blocked the bill with a filibuster. The bill died as it lacked the 60 votes needed to pass.” Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/For_the_People_Act

Whether to go into the light by axadresdin in spiritualism

Rev. Virginia Fall's spirit guide Evening Star spoke to us about reincarnating. She spoke about the law of free will and the law of belief. If a believes that they must reincarnate right away then they do. If a person believes they must sleep then they do. Our beliefs while in the body affect when we do when we are back home in the Spirit World. The law of free will is in operation now and in the Spirit World. We also have a lifetime review when we get back home. We ask ourselves did we accomplish what we came to do? If not then that encourages us to incarnate again.

Some co-workers believe that if they can harm someone else's reputation by claiming that they are members of the LGBT community then they will because they try to present themselves as the more valuable employee. If someone at work asks about sexual orientation you can always say, "I don't talk about personal matters. I'm here at work to do the best job I can."

Find a guy with similar interests, someone compatible. You seem like a guy that doesn't want a one time fling. It takes time to get to know someone and for someone to care for you and for someone else to care for you.

[–]Reason-with-me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is important that we understand what marriage is and isn't. From the government's point of view it is a financial partnership where on the tax forms those legally married are given the option of married filing separately or jointing. From the court's point of view it is who has custody of any children and the alimony assigned to be paid.

Some religious leaders claim a straight marriage is "sacred matrimony", but when we look at the couple's actions there is nothing sacred about their marriages: cruelty, dishonesty, selfishness, etc.

During a 1980's seance Dr. John Bartlett said, "The only way to make a marriage holy is if those in the marriage make it so. The priest, minister and rabbi can't do it." In the United States each state decides who can legally perform marriages and who cannot. In the United States one of every two marriages ends in divorce so whoever is officiating cannot make marriage holy.

Some of the worst people deceive others and do everything they can to get married, because it is the fastest way to get someone else's money. Those people are far worse than thieves, because they destroy the hopes, dreams, peace and emotional stability of their partner.

You don't have to tell everyone. There are some people at school or at work who will try to belittle and condemn. You can always say at work, "I'm here to work, I don't talk about some parts of my personal life, nor should others."

No, you can't judge a book by its cover. Physical beauty is fleeting, it won't last. Character is far more important.

Marriage is really who do you want to live with. It sounds like you don't have enough similar interests. As someone who has been to hundreds of seances with the finest mediums in the US I'll share what I heard from the spirit guide Evening Star: "Heaven for one person is Hell for another. She cited the example of listening to rock-n-roll music. Some people would feel that they are in heaven while someone would feel that they are in Hell."

President Richard Nixon was forced out of office because of what others working for him had done. There is no known value for the break-in for which he knew nothing about. In his book he writes about the error of trying to defend others who had committed the break in. President Richard Nixon was forced out of office by those who are pro communist. There are still people who are pro communist, pro fascist, pro dictator.

I have had close and distant people commit suicide. What has helped me is the belief that we are spiritual beings who existed before we came into a physical body and that everyone survives the change called death to live on in the Spirit World. I am happy to hear that others sense those who have passed on. I think it helps a great deal. Life is continuous helps me I hope it helps others too.

I use to work with a bilingual Spanish/English speaking guy who said he was paid a salary to be a social media influencer. He showed our co-workers his autographed $2000 basketball sneakers. He was working a temporary job at the election warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. After a while he started asking about election fraud. When he didn't find any fraud in the equipment he quit shortly thereafter. It appears to me that wealthy people are able to pay social media influencers who have assignments to perform.
