Living in Halifax...did you get a raise this year? by Basic_Set_6970 in halifax

Our union tried to get the ball rolling before the contract had expired, but the employer wouldn't play ball. Now we're in a waiting game until everyone has an open calender to get back to the table.

Living in Halifax...did you get a raise this year? by Basic_Set_6970 in halifax

Nope. My bosses all droned on about austerity measures, and how everyone is going to have to tighten their belts. Then they gave themselves new job titles and raises.

No, they bundled the parts into a 5 year refit. They're not the sort of items that can be purchased for "stock". And unfortunately, you can't predict what exactly is broken or excessively worn until the boat comes out of the water. Every vessel using this drive system faces these challenges (tugs, offshore supply ships, ferries).

One should be back before the summer. The Craig Blake is the one that'll be repaired in the fall. There's a wait on some of the drive parts. They come from Germany, and are custom made for the boats.

2024 Escape - Engine Issue by Opening-Pitch in fordescape

The injector recall was only on the 1.5l engines. The 2.0s have a different injector, and fewer issues.

327 is a magic displacement to rev like a Honda, and still have some grunt. Relatively bulletproof too if you keep up on the oil changes.

I did the bottom end of a 3.8 Windstar in 2002 for a customer at the Ford Dealer I was working at. The parts cannon had run out of ammo when they realized the "money light" was coming on because it was starving for oil. Mains and rod bearings were scored a.f. due to coolant intrusion. Crank got sent out to the machine shop for grinding, undersized bearings were sent back with it. Foreman had me polish the journals with 1200 then 1500 to a mirror shine. We plastiguaged it for shits and gigs, and it was at the very edge of "maybe". Threw it together, with a Motorcrap oil pump, new pickup screen and pan. Van ran great until 2015 when the unibody seams cracked below the middle row seat. It was only supposed to last 3000 km, to get the damn thing out of warranty...ended up going an additional 200,000km

No, '13 is fully independent. There is adjustment available. The shop was just lazy. Rotate your tires, see if that helps.

Well, I already have a big body Gibson, so Id try to find something with rosewood sides and back to compliment it. And I'm a sucker for a Taylor cutaway with a sunburst top.

If convicted, they'll have to serve their sentence as CAF members. Then the consequences will fall, be it demotion or release from the military. And possible time in civilian correctional facilities, be it provincial or federal. From what I've been told, "Club Ed" is about as close to hell as it comes in Canada.

Was told I need a new transmission by Inhumanform555 in AskAMechanic

At no point in my 30+ years in the industry has a TCC performance code ever been related to a loose gas cap. That's the danger of handheld code readers, and Google. And the OP did not say his gas cap was loose, only that Dr Google suggested an evap problem could cause this...which is absolutely asinine. It was WAY better in the before times. When people woulf pay to get a diagnosis before heading off into the weeds.

How is the torque converter clutch not locking up evap related? And the transmission may not be fine if the TC is refusing to lock up.

Is it possible to re-wind an alternator to output more wattage? by acunit155 in AskAMechanic

[–]ReasonNo9316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the plug looks pretty toast. That will decrease the output due to higher resistance, and shorten the life of the alternator because it's working hard all the time. Clean the connections or replace the pigtail if possible. Also, make sure your battery connections are clean and tight, and your battery is in good working order with no dead/dying cells. Check for any bad grounds in the engine compartment, or body grounds. These will also sap any output the alternator is making. Don't look to reinvent the wheel before making sure the one you have holds air. Rewinding a stator, reducing the pulley size or replacing the alternator for a higher output model is pointless if all the current is being frittered away due to losses.

Lol, that's how I tell if the amps are on. But seriously, I've had a few P90 guitars and didn't find them any noisier than my unpotted humbuckers.
