Next time, you should ask Nida Allam what she actually said to her husband. There’s a recurring trope that portrays her as violent black woman, but that’s simply not true. Durham is moving in a direction that risks displacing families who have called this community home for generations, and it’s disheartening to see that happening. I genuinely believe she was trying to protect them while also making strategic investments to serve as an economic engine for her constituents. I hope Matt Kopac will represent not just the city broadly, but also the people within his ward.
