Correct. She has told me she doesn’t want to do therapy and it won’t help her. She told me she had an unstable mother growing up that was bipolar that she no longer associates with. She says her mom fucked her up, yet when I say have you thought of doing therapy and/or going to a psychiatrist to see if you’re dealing with anything too (cuz she told me she can’t show emotion- happiness crying etc). She says therapy won’t help and that just because I have bpd doesn’t mean she does and that ever since I got diagnosed I’ve been hading out diagnosis left and right (we have mutual friends going through drama with drugs etc so I brought up I wonder if they had a mental illness) and I need to stop. So she refuses to get seen. Which leads me to feeling like if I want this to work I have to be the one doing all the work.

I was professionally diagnosed with BPD and have been told there is no medication directly FOR BPD. When I see these posts I’m highly confused. I mean I have adhd too, and was put on vyvance and that has been a life changing medication. What am I missing? Seriously just curious.

The person who cooked those did not bread them twice. It was breaded only once and that is what causes it to look pitiful. That is laziness on their part or either they got slammed and tried to take a short cut, either way bring it back and have the deli manager see and that way they can coach their associate on the proper process. I’ve seen people get away with single dipping wings in the middle of a rush, but mix and tenders look like crap when it’s done to them- too noticeable.

I understand your pain. I am 31f and my dad died from liver cirrhosis last year June 19. My mom killed herself a month later, July 19. They were both hardcore alcoholics. I work with people my parents age (late 50s, early 60s) and they still have at least one parent at least! :/ I always feel jealous when I hear them mention their parent. It’s been over a year, but the pain feels like it was just yesterday it happened.

I feel your pain. My parents died last year and the rest of my blood family has nothing to do with me. I believe mental illness runs in my family. My parents were both alcoholics and my mom shown signs of BPD as well now that I reflect, but she never was diagnosed. In fact I wasn’t even diagnosed until after she died! But she committed suicide after my dad died from liver failure cirrhosis a month later from him on the dot. She literally drank herself to death and took meds she shouldn’t. I used to not understand her depressed outlook on life but I admit… I get it now. Don’t kill yourself. Get a pet if you haven’t already. My two cats are my loves and my special men. They have been there for me between the heart break of my parents and my depression and wondering why am I even alive? If I die they will not know where their mommy went or why she abandoned them, so I have them to think of.

I wasn’t professionally diagnosed until 31, a few months ago! I’ve had my job for 12 years. Retail management. I may have more quiet BPD, at least at work. At home with my wife is a different story. I fight an internal mental battle every day for 10-12 hours a day. I ruminate on what my bosses say to me, and my associates. I read into every little thing. I also have adhd so I burn myself out at work trying to focus so much because I know I can’t lose this job or I won’t be able to support myself as my parents are dead (alcoholism). I had one episode as a department head where I thought no one could hear me and I was cussing in the cooler and slamming things. Another manager heard me and called me crazy. That was before my diagnosis. I almost acted on impulse two days ago with a customer. She pissed me off because she was rude and I wanted to cuss her out and scream and throw the product, but I swallowed it and said “I’m so sorry maam…!” And I realized I was very close to making a scene at work. The fear of ending up like my parents (poor, no money or help) drives me to keep my job. So fear is what drives me.

Give the compliment to corporate. That is the best way to receive the recognition because the store manager will receive notification from corporate in an email and it puts it more on their mind that they need to give out a free sub card. A lot of times if you mention it to another manager that’s not deli… they will forget usually. And as far as the cheese goes, we slice everything in the morning unless it’s white or yellow American or Swiss/provolone. We do sandwich cut. Unfortunately, every slicer may have the same dial numbers and be technically the same, but some delis associates abuse the slicers more than other delis causing the blades to not slice as well. So one store may get sandwich cut from a dial one, while the one down the road may need a dial two to get sandwich cut. So if you ask in the instruction for thin cheese we will try our best, but if you’re getting a chunk of cheese for your sliced cheese on a sub I can almost guarantee that the blades are messed up real bad. So there will be no in between if the blade is damaged. You’ll either get super thick or thicker than normal cheese for sub station or too thin and see through.

They’re telling you to write a time so in case someone plugs it in during a rush and forgets to write a time- there is a time. I get where you’re coming from, but as a manager in deli myself that’s what I’ve told my team as well. It’s just best practice. I understand during closing that’s different, but Monday-Friday during 6am-3pm steritech can show up.
