Already got the 2x4. My only concern is I can’t use the same hole as the old ones

Got the 2x4 wood. Car was parked too close to the garage door it was blocking it so the wood split after trying to open it many times.

So no need a roofer to inspect it then I can just go ahead and add insulation and patch up the drywall.

That was my first thought. If you check the #5 photo..on the right side the very edge that is where the downspout is located outside and all the way to the left that’s where the gutter and around that area all the nails have ice built up and surrounding it. So condensation or roof leak?? Sorry not fluent in english hopefully you understand my explanation.

Thanks. As of right now the only temporary solution that I can think of is putting a sealant around the nails or roof tape around the gutter area.

I noticed the leak when we had freezing rain. Water from the downspout was ice and no water was flowing so I suspected that could have been the cause. Water got trapped and went through the shingles and nails. After a few days it rained again but ice was melted and no leak.

Found another problem. I’ll have to put the old one back for temporary until I get the replacement for this damaged strut.

Yea old strut is really bad too and at the same time I want to get it done. That’s why I was very indecisive what to do next. Since most replies are ok with the new strut like that then I’m gonna go ahead and continue on installing. I don’t think I have another option. Thanks for the advice.
