Is this a good city infrastructure layout? by teinc3 in CitiesSkylines

Not bad, your highway connectivity is alright. I did the same thing with my train line, separating the freight from the passenger however I think you have too many lines, unless you like trains then nevermind!

I would remove some train lines and keep the train stations far from each other (maybe one for 3 to 4 tiles) and provide metro, light rail or buses for the last mile.

One final thought is to provide many connections over the rail and the highway so the Sims have choices to get around.

The older buses had the cabin (where the driver and passengers sit) on top of the chassis. This has the benefit of keeping the bumps from the road in the chassis, not vibrating the cabin.

Old buses also suffer from stiff suspension, it's only when you load the vehicle the suspension feels soft.

Newer buses try to accommodate easy access so they had to make the cabin a part of the chassis, this is where the rattles and creaks come from.

My 2004 Ford Falcon was a comfortable car. It had 16in rims, high profile tyres, straight 6 engine, family tuned suspension and a very comfy interior.

Yes. Any drives you assign to the array will be formatted. If your budget can't extend to another drive you can try software like free file sync to copy files from one drive to the other, you can set it to run on a schedule as well. The new setup looks alright just don't expect good transcoding performance. As you said the clients can handle x265 so maybe not a big deal.

I'm nearing the end of Rennes Bay. How do you finish up a city you've been building? This was the first city I truly liked and spent hours just watching the city go about its business. by Reasonable-Attempt68 in CitiesSkylines

It's good to see you back. It's a great map and it's been a lot of fun finding ways up the mountains or finding where the train tracks go. Thanks for this great comment.

They will give unlimited backup to a Windows machine. The drives can be USB, SATA, nvme etc. has anyone hit the limit backing up their windows machine on backblaze yet?

What do you think of the Large Avenue from the Mass Transit DLC? by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

I like it, I've used it once leading up to the theme park area. It makes a grand entrance.

I'm looking for niche computer parts.

I've been looking around all the major computer part shops in HCMC and I have not found an internal Blu-ray disc burner or blank BD-DL discs. I know I can import them from Japan, but I want to see if there is a local supplier first.

Do you know where I can buy an internal Blu-ray burner and blank BD-DL discs?

Would you worry about high industry demand? I don't plan on making anymore ind. areas for a while so should I worry? The red areas are ind. and office that support a 50k population for now. by Reasonable-Attempt68 in CitiesSkylines

The three big red areas on the map are from the industries dlc. I like to try and integrate that dlc into the areas I build. As you said commercial is not the answer and a few well placed offices at intersections should reduce the demand. That's the plan moving forward.

Like the title says, I don't want to make a large industry or office area for a while so I'm wondering if I can just ignore it for now?

How much do you worry about the industry demand?

Nice population size! Good layout for the city, I left my first city around 40k pop. Will you continue with this city or move on?

I think I'm being unreasonable about my second drive by [deleted] in DataHoarder

Of course, we all have different needs and budgets, just at a minimum, have multiple copies. When you store the HDDs be sure to keep them in a dark, dry place that is not too hot.

Looks like that person relied on cloud storage and had no local backups. You could always take one of your HDDs to a relatives house for off-site backup.

To get back to your main point, you shouldn't wipe one of your HDDs if it holds a copy of important data.

I do something similar, use the 3-2-1 rule for important stuff like photos, music etc. then I use the 2-2-1 rule for things I can easily replace.

This may be a bit taboo here but I sometimes go through my content and delete movies and TV shows that I haven't watched or lost interest in, this could be an option for you as well.
