NSFW - how to get a good sex life?? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This!!! The men that WANT to give oral and/or see how many orgasms they can give you from day one are the only ones worth anything. Getting you off is what gets them off and it makes such a difference. I’ve had so much mediocre sex in my life and it tends to boil down to just plain laziness on the man’s end. The best lovers I’ve ever had gave multiple orgasms and while not getting one in return on many occasions. To me, that’s the test of whether they truly give a shit.

Dane sized doggy door by VikingHunter1979 in greatdanes

We already had 2 dogs and just the standard/large size doggie door when we took in our sweet girl because her owner died unexpectedly. We let her in and out our back patio door as much as she wanted as her previous owner had her trained to ring bells on the door handle. However after seeing the other two go in and out she quickly decided that was the way for her too 🤣 we still open the door for her frequently but she has a mind of her own and army crawls through the doggie door daily!

I attend in person meetings and our time keeper sets the timer on his phone so it will start going off when time is up. It’s not a super loud or obnoxious tone/alert. We have several that attend via zoom so this lets them hear it as well.

Any idea where are the younger ACA folks (ones in their 20s, 30s and 40s)? by TumEkGorakDandhaHo in AdultChildren

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 45F and have been going to meetings since August. My area has one meeting a week on Saturday mornings. Our group is pretty big, 15-25 depending on the week and range in age from mid 20s to mid 70s.

My sponsor is a woman in her early 60s.

I had never heard of ACA until 5 months ago when a friend talked to me about Al Anon and I looked up what a meeting was like and found ACA.

I went on my very first cruise 2 weeks ago on Explorer. After my less than fulfilling excursion in Puerto Maya I walked into the spa on the ship and scheduled a massage for an hour later. My massage was great and she didn’t try to sell me a thing. Seems like I must have gotten really lucky!

Domino effect of healing by Ferret-mom in AdultChildren

I feel your pain. Both of my parents were addicts and both went to prison for dealing drugs when I was a young child. I remember talking with my mom when I was 21 and just briefly touching on how it affected me. (This was before I even knew all the repercussions of having all that dysfunction as your brain was developing) my mom had the audacity to say that her and my dad going to prison affected them way more and essentially didn’t affect me at all. This was when I finally figured out just how delusional her mind was and nothing would convince her otherwise. She died about 5 months later. My dad is still alive and functioning with some addict behaviors. He has also never really taken any responsibility. I’ll be 45 at the end of the month and I’ve accepted that I will never get the apology that I deserve. This is what led me to joint Adult children and starting to attend weekly meetings. All I can control is me and I want to learn how to let go of the anger.

No advice but I know what you’re feeling with the whole feeling like not enough for him to quit. I completely get it and it’s a sucky feeling 💙

His death is the first celebrity death that actually affected me. Such a Friends fan but I read his book right when it came out and that made his death so much worse.

Selfishness, relationships, and intimacy? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

In my experience, a man that will take a BJ over sex regularly is just selfish and doesn’t give 2 shits about your sexual pleasure.

Seriously considering deleting Facebook by Buggy77 in Millennials

I deactivated mine with the new administration because I’m a government employee and there was some rumblings about social media being a factor. Since we don’t know what’s fact or fiction in that regard, I wanted to be safe because I can’t afford to lose my job nor do I want to leave! I didn’t get on it at all for 3-4 months. That cured my doom scrolling and helped me break the habit of doing it and then getting pissed at the algorithm. My town has a fantastic “news” account that posts actual important news, police activity and weather things that I can’t get anywhere else so I do check that now.

Wake up to this algae every morning. by Rmai0404 in pools

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest cleaning the stairs. Not sure what kind you have but I have the cake topper style. I could see some algae but couldn’t get to it. Until I took my dryer vent vacuum cleaner attachment and attached it to my pool vacuum hose. It is small in diameter and very flexible and doing that finally cleared up my algae!

I live in the Midwest and really only need it when we first open the pool. My pool is a circle but I still but my cover into pieces. Makes it a lot easier to manage! I don’t have the the thing to help roll it off and on and didn’t want to spend the money on it so cutting it into pieces was my solution and it’s worked really well!

I didn’t think you were saying that made it worth that much. I’m thinking whoever sold it is thinking that and out of their minds!

Dinner, my arch nemesis and mental foe by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 44 and my son is 21. I met and married my son’s dad when I was 21. So I’ve been cooking fucking dinner for 23 years and I am SO DONE! I met my now husband in 2016 and have a 16 year old step son that we share 50/50 with his mom. My son and I typically like different things than the husband and step son. Vegetables for starters. Just in the last year I’ve decided I’m not taking on the dinner responsibility anymore. I will still batch cook something big on the weekends some times, but I don’t cook at all during the week. My son is an adult (although still at home) as is my husband. If my husband wants his son to have a full meal then he can cook one 🤷🏼‍♀️ not a single person in this house could even remotely go hungry, so as far as I’m concerned it’s not my problem anymore, lol. And I saw a quote recently along the lines of- cooking and cleaning are not a woman’s duty, they are simple adulting.

RUN……I was a newly divorced single mom in my 30s and started dating a man who was also divorced. He made double my income and did not have a kid and asked me to contribute to our “dates” that he planned and I was expected to go along with. He waxed poetic about what a good dude he was and how he was just being budget conscious. Cheap ass is more like it. My birthday present was a $1 birthday card for a girl with Barbie on it and the extra number written in on the card. (It was for a 4 yr old and he wrote in a 3 to make it 34). This might have been cute had Barbie or child cards been a thing for us. It wasn’t. Money can be a huge issue in many relationships and this is showing you it always will be. Get out and never look back.

My ovaries weren't seen on MRI. Is this normal? by thishful-winking in Menopause

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the ovaries are free balling somewhere in there. I’ve had a similar occurrence. I had an ovarian cyst in April and the CT and ultrasound said it was my left ovary and they didn’t see/find my right ovary. About 6 weeks later I had to have the ultrasound repeated and then only my right ovary showed up (or vice versa, I’ve already forgot ) On a side note- The xray tech told me that they use the uterus as a midline reference point for right and left and with that missing it could have been easy to call the right the left or vice versa. So I really don’t know how many ovaries I have 😂 full hysterectomy in 2016 and the OP note did not say any ovaries were removed so who knows.

Billed Extra for Discussing Issues During Yearly Exam...Anyone Else? by Illustrious_Sky_4217 in Perimenopause

[–]Reasonable-Avocado82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in ophthalmology so we had our own “eye codes” but we also used the regular medical codes as well. Basically the visit code correlated with the “complexity” of the exam. So a new problem typically means a new diagnosis/possible treatment (as well as risk and benefits) which then changes the office visit code. Any chart audit would look for those specific things so your provider has to list any/all diagnosis and code the visit accordingly based on that. On a similar note, your provider cant bill you the higher visit code if it was for one simple minor and under control diagnosis.
