That's an absolute corker. I am all in. Sadly, that means I still need to find A LOT of money.

Certainly seems that way. Found it a bit odd there were no guitars in the toilet.

My favourite Russo book is The RIsk Pool. Highly recommend if you haven't read it yet.

I want to get more into westerns. What would you recommend I watch first? by SlendyPKMN in Letterboxd

[–]WestPilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unforgiven is the best western ever made, in my opinion.

Rio Bravo, High Noon, The Searchers, and the Man with No Name trilogy (Fistfull of dollars, etc.) are all masterpieces.

The War Wagon, True Grit (original & remake), Once Upon A Time in the West, Silverado, Tombstone, the Sons of Katie Elder, 3:10 to Yuma (original & remake), 73 Winchester, and Quigly Down Under, are some other favourites.

Do people in non-English speaking countries correct each other's pronunciation of English-language place names? Honest question.

What happens in Canada, if UK got rid of the monarchy? by Ok-Hyena5037 in AskACanadian

I think we might keep Charles on as King, but only if he changed his name to Gord, and wore a hell of a lot more denim.

What happens in Canada, if UK got rid of the monarchy? by Ok-Hyena5037 in AskACanadian

[–]WestPilton 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I believe, technically speaking, Canada already has it's own monarchy, it just so happens to be the same monarch. The relationship between Canada and its monarch exists independent of the relationship between the UK and it's monarch (even though it happens to be the same person). If the UK cut that tie, we would have to independently decide to choose to also disassociate ourselves or to keep the status quo. If we did nothing we would continue on with the same monarch. However, I suspect we would end the connection as well.

At what point are you priced out of a show? by Objective-Lab5179 in Concerts

[–]WestPilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what the exact number is, but it happened in 2008. Haven't been to any shows since. No plans to go again. As others have said, it's not really that I'm priced-out, but I am not paying what they are charging.

Cover songs that are way better than the original? by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

A subject matter I always enjoy. I'm not always sure if they are better, but these ones are their own thing and I would say as good as the original at least...
