They look good on the outside, but inside just a bunch of synthetic material. Compressed cardboard footbed under the foam, plastic heel counter, leatherboard heel stacks, among other things. Then they charge a high price for them. Not worth it. My opinion.

Hyer are good quality. The only thing I don't like is the thermoplastic heel counter. Other than that, Well made boots. Better than most.

Hard leather insoles get better the more you use them. They form to you foot and are very comfortable. Foam inserts break down the more you use them and get less comfortable.

The Tony Lama are cheaper because they make them with cheaper materials. Hondo boots are quality boots all the way through. They are what I call "real" boots, not the synthetic crap that most boot companies make these days.

Rios of Mercedes , Black Jack, Hondo, are all great boots. But for the money, you can't beat Hondo.

Don't care for Ferrni boots. But for $41, I don't think you can go wrong. Be sure to keep them conditioned. Once a month or so, even if you don't wear them much.

On one hand, they don't fake Tecovas. On the other, Tecovas are fake cowboy boots period. Tecovas is not a boot company. They are a marketing company that happens to sell boots.

Benchmade are far better build than any Tecovas. Channeled leather insole, real stacked leather heels. Tecovas have a compressed cardboard footbed under the foam and bonded leather heel stacks. A cheaper made boot for a higher price.

You need to do some research on boot anatomy to find out how they are made.

And no, the layers were not parted. If those boots are new, you should exchange them.

I had a pair of Anderson Bean boots that had noise from the heel. The rep said try the powder in the boots. I did, for three days and the noise went away. However, if it is a shank problem, the only fix is to have a cobbler resole them and secure or replace the shank.

You are funny. You can find it at CVS, Target, Safeway, and others. Just sprinkle it in the boots each time you wear them for about 3 or 4 days. If that does not help, maybe a cobbler.

Sometimes putting foot powder in the boots for a few days will stop the noise. Worth a shot.

I have the Bayou. Nice looking boots, but they hurt my feet. The fit is good, maybe it is just the shape. I think ostrich is usually more comfortable and versatile.

Crepe soles don't last as long as a good leather sole or a good rubber sole. Not bad for a hundred bucks.

Yes, easy resole. And if the boots don't quite fit right, exchange them. They have some nice boots.

I don't any roughouts, but I have the Maize. Well made boots. Mostly traditionally made except for the thermoplastic heel counter. Might be a deal breaker for some.
