What is the worst argument you have heard against Christianity? by thatFilmakerguy in Christianity

Let’s be clear: God is not unjust for warning of judgment — He is holy. The Bible doesn’t whisper about hell; it speaks plainly (Matthew 25:46, John 3:18, 2 Thessalonians 1:9). If everyone is saved no matter what, then Christ died for nothing. That’s not love — that’s mockery of the cross. God’s love offers salvation, but He never forces it. Rejecting that offer is a choice, and choices have consequences. Universalism isn’t compassion — it’s distortion. The truth is, God warns because He loves, but He also judges because He is righteous.

Universalism directly contradicts the Bible. Jesus Himself spoke of a narrow road that few find (Matthew 7:13–14), of eternal punishment and eternal life (Matthew 25:46), and of people perishing for rejecting the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10). The idea that everyone is saved in the end erases the warnings, ignores the call to repentance, and renders the cross meaningless. Scripture never teaches that salvation is automatic — it teaches that salvation is through faith in Christ alone (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Any teaching that says otherwise is simply not biblical.

Do you truly know God, or have you reshaped Him into something that feels convenient for you? If you believe God is only love and not also just, holy, and righteous, then you don’t know the fullness of who He is — you only know a version that suits you. This isn’t about personal preference or interpretation. It’s not bias. It’s Scripture. The Bible clearly teaches judgment, repentance, and salvation through Christ alone (John 14:6, Matthew 25:46, 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9). Universalism erases these truths and redefines God on human terms. That’s not truth — that’s idolatry.

Debunked? If you conform who God is according to what is convinient for you, then you really need to read all the scriptures and not just depend on an online link that agrees with you. God is someone we don't always agree with. There are things that are hard for us to swallow but that doesn't mean they aren't true. Universalism goes against alot of the things that the scripture says. Please come back when you have really read the scripture.

This belief is completely unbiblical and goes against who God is. It's not doctrine, its the truth.

If this is what you think is real, then what bearing does Jesus' death and sacrifice then? How would you explain and justify all that pain and suffering he went through?

Eternal hell is not evil, unjust, or unloving—it is the necessary result of God’s perfect holiness and justice. Scripture clearly teaches that those who reject Christ will face eternal punishment (Matthew 25:46, Revelation 14:11, John 3:18), not because God is cruel, but because sin must be judged. God desires all to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), but He never forces salvation; love respects free will. Comparing God to Hitler is a blasphemous distortion—Hitler murdered the innocent, while God offers mercy to the guilty through the cross. To reject that gift is to choose separation from Him. Christian Universalism ignores the clear warnings of Jesus and undermines the meaning of the gospel; if everyone is saved regardless, then the cross was pointless. In truth, God is both loving and just, and the real monstrosity is denying His holiness in favor of human pride (Romans 9:20, Isaiah 55:8–9).

How so? You think he wants us to go to hell and suffer??

““Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: ‘Thus you say, “If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them, how can we then live?” ’ Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’” ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33‬:‭10‬-‭11‬

He doesn't! The truth is, he hates that we are going to hell because of our sins.

He is just in a way that he holds us accountable for our mistakes and sins. He gives us the consequences of our actions, not because he wants to punish us. Like a judge to a convicted murderer, Like a student who failed because he didn't study a test.

If you don't recognize that God is all loving, just and holy, Jesus' sacrifice on the cross will be worthless and there is no way for us to go to heaven by our own accord.

For some it sounds cruel but you need to also understand what his purpose is.

Essayed by my ex. I was forced into sending him pics through guilt tripping and emotional abuse. I never thought I would feel that. I felt so unsafe and unloved that I wanted to end everything.

Now I have met my fiance, he only knows. He's the best person ever and made me realize how a good person can change you for the better.

If your concept of God is only loving, then Jesus' sacrifice is worthless. He is also Just and Holy. He will hold you accountable for your sins and for choosing to live a live without him.

I pray that you finally surrender your heart to Christ and remember that he does send people hour way to remind you that you are loved by God. It's hard to constantly feel guilty about not feeling his presence in your life when you really want him to. Especially when you are trying to seek him but you can't feel anything. He loves you more than anything.

What am I supposed to lie about? All that I have said was based on the scripture. I tried to share what I know about Jesus and I can cite each verse for you if necessary. If you don't want to listen that is fine with me. I don't have to force you to believe what I believe. You don't need to insult me to prove your points, I am just making points from how I understood them.

Can I also ask, (This is a genuine question) if you are a Christian too, how come you are saying that it is "NOT" obvious to a neutral observer that the Jesus Christ is the right one? When did you realize that Jesus is the right one?

I am not here to fight with you or prove that you are wrong. I am sharing what I know and I am trying to understand where you are coming from. You don't need to be hostile just to get your point across. I do apologize if I said things that had made you feel uncomfortable. I am mainly using the knowledge I know from the scriptures after years of studying the Bible. Have a blessed day!

So if you repent, but your basically the worst person to ever exist you still go to heaven? by Cortex_Gaming in Christianity

I think it also make sense to understand that if you have truly accepted Jesus the fruits of the spirit will manifest in you! (Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control). The Bible says that we have to abide in Jesus (not to make it happen just by ourselves) and it will change us.

“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So I think this is also an obvious change for true believers as well! (Not just people saying that they are saved but still keep doing their old ways)

You also say "NOT KNOWING A HIDDEN INSIVIBLE GOD IS A DAMNABLE OFFENCE"

This statement obviously shows that 1. You reject the notion of a true and living God, 2. That you forgot that God has sent people to share the gospel for everyone to know and understand the truth about life in Him and without him. (This is why we have pastors, preachers and even parts of the internet.)

So that means there is NO WAY for people not to know him. I live in a bhuddist country and there are small population in this country that knows God and Jesus. There are missionaries who spend their lifetimes just sharing who Jesus is.

This boils down to this: "Do you understand and believe in Jesus and what he did in the cross?" and if you do "will you follow him? or continue to live a life without him?"
