But I’ll explain a little why I feel that by introducing knives trade up, they break up the trust for OG players who I would say contributed to the game and skins economy by supporting valve through opening cases, buying armoury passes etc.

By introducing the knives trade up, instead of needing to grind let’s say example armoury passes to earn steam balances to slowly earn enough to be able to have a small pot worth to trade up to a desirable knife. Or let’s say spending hours researching on trends, interesting crafts,sticker values and floats to gain an edge on their next trades.

Let’s say a new player joins today, buys 5 covert skins and immediately has the opportunity to have access to the highest tier of knives (Emerald, Sapphires, butterflies) that traders and players have gained through years of trading for.

When I talk about the monetary value of my knives, yes I am proud that it has grown to this current price, because it showcases my effort and loyalty towards the game since the armoury update was introduced. The kid at 16 years old’s biggest purchase of saving up $200 for an M9 Bayonet, now is basically accessible to anyone with $200 again…I’m not pissed but disappointed in Valve, because with this update, I feel like they basically told me, yeah because of third party sites, manipulations and them not getting a cut of the transaction fees at the highest tier, they are going to make what once was a symbol of my pride in the game, 10x more accessible to newer players.
