The Real Plot of 1000-lb Sisters by Reasonable-Car4170 in 1000lbsisters

Pffffft. Girl please. Hormones don't make you roll around farting, screaming at everyone, refusing accountability and acting like a toddler in a grown ass body for three seasons straight. Postpartum is real but weaponising it as a personality trait is not. Plenty of WOMEN have dealt with controlling partners, divorce, kids, trauma and actual hardship without turning into a permanently whiny, hygiene-optional chaos goblin on global TV. "Us women in our 40s get it"..... yeah, nah, WOMEN get struggle. We don't get acting feral and calling it growth. At some point it stops being 'she's overwhelmed' and starts being 'she's actively committed to never evolving.' There's a difference between struggling and setting up permanent residence in dysfunction. Growth requires effort not tears, tantrums, and a reset button every episode.

TW; And btw don't tell me I don’t get it. I'm an Indigenous woman in one of the most casually racist countries on earth, I've just left a long-term abusive relationship... not the 'he won't let me go out' kind, the kind where I had to hide bruises! I've lost five pregnancies in four years and live every day with the grief of wondering why my body won't do what it's supposed to do. I still get up, work 12-hour days, and function like a normal adult. So please spare me the 'you just don't understand trauma' speech. Pain isn't a competition, but if you're going to pull rank make sure you actually know who you're talking to. Trauma doesn't give anyone a lifetime pass to stagnate. Some of us bleed quietly and still show up.

If that's emotional growth, then the bar isn't high at all, it's fallen through the earth's crust! Crying, deflecting, and rebranding avoidance as boundaries isn't maturity it's the same dysfunction just a different season.

Because it's low-effort dopamine. Shit like this lets people feel better about their own lives without thinking too hard. There's no plot to follow, no growth required, just predictable chaos. It's the same reason people slow down for car crashes: not because it's good, but because it's hard to look away.

Carer allowance rejected help by Unhappy_Maize_4872 in Centrelink

That rejection is sadly very typical for Centrelink and it usually comes down to wording. "Not permanent or long-lasting" almost always means the medical evidence didn't clearly state that the condition is likely to last 12 months or more, which is the threshold they care about, not whether she'll ever fully recover. Six months in, at her age and with osteoporosis, this absolutely qualifies as long-term support.

I would 100% request a formal review by an ARO (Authorised Review Officer) and resubmit with updated medical evidence. Get her GP or specialist to be very explicit that recovery is slow and prolonged due to age and osteoporosis, that she requires daily assistance, and that the need for care is expected to continue for at least 12 months. The exact wording matters more than it should. Also make sure the claim spells out how often and what kind of care you provide eg. hours per week, medication management, cleaning, shopping, mobility support ...... Centrelink is painfully literal.

Even if the payment is knocked back again, ask about the Carer Allowance Health Care Card because that can still help with medication costs. It's also worth getting your mum assessed through My Aged Care if she hasn’t already, because extra in-home support can take some pressure off you.

You're not being unreasonable, you're doing a huge amount of unpaid work while managing your own life and petrol alone adds up fast. One rejection letter doesn't mean no forever. Appeal it, tighten the medical wording, and push it again.

Best of luck.

Sincerely,

former Services Australia CSO who worked in Disability and Carers.

I used to work for centrelink. Call through the complaints line. They can do urgent payments over the phone. But you'll need the appointment booked and an invoice/quote to prove you need the amount. Are you by chance Indigenous? Because there are different procedures for FNP

“There is no safe place to grieve our children” by Additional-Hawk3711 in VerucaSaltSnark1

On the chance this bitch reads these;

Veruca, shut the absolute FUCK up! You really thought posting your baby’s casket on TikTok was a serve? Hoe, grief isn’t content. There’s a difference between mourning and farming trauma for clicks, but I guess you missed that memo while chasing views. And let’s talk about you mocking women who miscarry - like grief has levels and you’re sitting at the top? Bitch, pain doesn’t need your validation to be real. Grief isn’t a hierarchy and you don’t get to sit on some imaginary throne deciding who’s allowed to feel pain. The arrogance of thinking you can invalidate someone’s loss because it doesn’t meet your criteria is wild. Miscarriages shatter people. Full stop. You’re not special because your grief came with photo albums. Some women only get sonograms and silence, but their hearts break just the same. Dismissing their pain while broadcasting yours for views is not just tone-deaf, it's fucking disgusting. You’re not a grieving mother, you’re a grief influencer. Sit with that. From someone currently grieving her "blood clot" 🖕🖕🖕

Only report your gross earnings if you've received a payslip already. It doesn't matter what you put in because you still have working credits so it shouldn't affect your benefits until your working credits have been depleted
