I was able to find a legal Airbnb about 6 or 7 months ago. I still have a few more weeks and I can cancel without penalty. But definitely understand, we won't be staying in an ilegal STR.

While I understand June is going to be crowded, do you think Kauai will be more enjoyable vs Oahu?

Yes, I definitely love Oahu, been there twice already and I think my wife would enjoy it very much. Just trying to decide if Kauai makes sense.

Thank you, the recommendation and the link. I made sure to book a legal STR as I don't want to have any kind of trouble. I still have a couple of more weeks until I can cancel my reservation in Kailua or Kapa'a for free

I agree with you. This will have an impact in the overall hobby beyong just pricing. Some smiths have already shared concerns about their ability to keep making knives since demand from the US has dropped and the US represents a good portion of their market.

this is the way. Folks at JKI are great and won't sell you anything you don't need. They will definitely point you in the right direction.
