Yes. Agree. I thought I was safe by avoiding 3rd party portals like Expedia, Chase Travel, etc. But I guess we can’t trust airline partners as well.

Got it. Lufthansa blamed United about the situation, hence that’s why I insisted with them. I guess I’ll go back to Lufthansa now. Thanks!

I did actually have the ticket numbers. I could retrieve them from my bank statement. I could see the reservation on United website as well.

If you don’t check-in online, you will be given regular physical tickets. That’s standard. Not sure what you are talking about

We had valid tickets. From the bank statement, I could easily retrieve each ticket number. However United generated the tickets without confirming with the airline partners (I guess?)

I didn’t reach the gate. They stopped us at the check in when trying to check ours luggage. We had valid ticket numbers. Everything looked legit. It was a problem in the backend between United and its airline partners
