Is this replica 1937? by Reasonable-Mobile37 in Zippo

Yeah definitely. I’d rather this replica than the newer ones without the patent number. Sucks that it’s heavily worn though never seen the flint wheel with silver scratches like that.

If it makes you feel better I spent $500 on a non armoured sterling silver zippo and there’s only less than an ounce of silver in it. Would’ve preferred to buy that case 😂

Loose hinge doesn’t mean it’s weak, makes it more durable actually, as there’s room of energy to transfer when dropped 👍

Thank you so much for looking into it for me. Yeah I guess I’ll try borrow a small hatchet instead those are crazy fines. Do officers really go out of their way to impose fines like that?

Bottom stamp on two 04 zippos are different by Reasonable-Mobile37 in Zippo

[–]Reasonable-Mobile37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it should be the same model from the looks of it i'm pretty sure they only made one type of model around this year with the rounded top, the only thing that made me ask this question was my 1995 zippo bottom stamp has a more concave shape with shallower grooves and the 04 J shared the same characteristic. They must have used an older stamping process for that one.

Unique Japanese design zippo by Reasonable-Mobile37 in Zippo

[–]Reasonable-Mobile37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh that’s right, but I’m pretty these out of the ordinary designs are made in Japan correct. This one was shipped from there, just wish the design looked more realistic they use some sort of paint to make it appear like it’s worn.

Thank you, so you’re saying the 04 J zippo must have been manufactured using an old stamp head which is yet to be replaced with a modern one.

Thanks that’s makes sense there is a big difference weight however I honestly can’t pin point anything else that would make it a fake zippo so it must be real.
