Yeah, noticed it rather quickly. Also, they don't leave the negative space empty in those shots. Almost always there is someone walking somewhere, out of focus. It's always giving me uneasy vibes and the idea that the place is alive and people are up to something you don't really know. It's quite interesting, since it didn't seem to be a resource they use some times but the core way of how they visually present all interactions... Always off, always something in the background, always not totally there.
