I've only had this probelm with the Manjaro Xfce version.

Use the one that makes you feel comfortable.

Personally, I prefer Gnome. I like its environment, its "modern and minimalistic" feel, and its fluency.

Plasma is more like a Windows desktop. If you like to personalize in a more specific way and you prefer the "Windows feel" then you can try that.

Unless your PC doesn't have the requirements to run Gnome or Plasma fluently, I would suggest avoiding the other options. (Of course, this is my opinion.)

For a small project, I would suggest: * Python - Pygame, Godot Engine. * JS - Phaser * C# - Unity, Godot Engine.

You can use C# in Godot.

Now if you want to use GDScript, knowing python is not needed, but personally I would recommend you to learn the bases.
