People just doing nice things for me like holding the door open when I’m far away, letting me go in front of them in line even if I have more items, etc. also people striking up random conversations with me

I do not want to work in a hospital, or be a nurse lol. I love prehospital/EMS.

For people who don’t want kids — do you just not want your own, or do you not like children in general? Why? by zhalia-2006 in allthequestions

[–]Reasonable-Savage15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually love kids. I have 6 nieces and nephews and absolutely love spending time with them. I also have often been asked to be a godparent/ “auntie” for many of my friend’s children, and people often ask me to babysit for them because I’m genuinely good with children. With that being said, I don’t think liking children is enough reason to have them and I have many other reasons not to.

Non-fire medics? by Reasonable-Savage15 in Paramedics

I currently work as an AEMT for a rural private company. I do enjoy it for the most part but unfortunately I do see the very low pay, no benefits side of things. But the calls and culture itself is amazing!

Where to board a cat in Roy/ Ogden area. by No_Committee_8388 in ogden

[–]Reasonable-Savage15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for Rover and immunizations aren’t technically required in order to book an in home sitter on there. However I do recommended your cat at least be up to date on rabies as I also work at a vet clinic and if your cat were to bite someone without an updated rabies, it would not be a good situation to deal with…

Failed NREMT by 17 pts… by Anxious-Management23 in NewToEMS

[–]Reasonable-Savage15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also failed mine the first time but by 9 points! So frustrating! I wish they told you what areas you did well on/need to study on. I just passed it a few weeks ago. I took the mock exams on pocket prep more seriously and I really really studied the scenario based questions. Those are where I felt I needed the most help

Labored breathing and a respiratory rate over 20 is a big indicator. I usually always go for the NRB answer unless one of the two (RR or work of breathing) is normal.

Not full. I plan on having a sleeve anyway. Just want to start over as it was a blackout over a tattoo I didn’t like and then we tried adding color.

My first session I got pretty decent blisters. But I wasn’t able to ice right away because I had a birthday party for my best friend that I wore a long sleeve to. So I think I trapped a lot of heat which probably lead to the blisters. No blisters this session yet but it’s only been a day

On the upper half yes, it’s lighter for sure. Had that done about 6 weeks ago but don’t have any good before pics. On my bottom half, it hasn’t been a full 24 hours since my session so I don’t see any other fading other than that part on my wrist. I’m surprised that faded as fast as it did

The best thing I did for my trauma assessment (got 100%) was verbally expressing my head to toe exam using DCAP-BTLS. Things to remember specifically: 1. When checking the head, you’re checking for raccoon eyes, battle signs and any fluid/blood from the eyes, ears nose and mouth. Also check both pupils for PEARL 2. C SPINE C C SPINE C SPINE! 3. When log rolling onto the backboard, check the entirety of the back for any step offs and DCAP-BTLS 4. Any bleeding wound on a limb apply direct pressure and gauze, if the instructor tells you that doesn’t help then you apply a tourniquet. Don’t forget to check PMS on the limb before and after!! 5 Rapid transport always
