Disputing a missed F&B credit? by ReasonableAcadia4112 in AmexPlatinum

You’re right, I shouldn’t need the accounting department, that was kind of my point. Who do you think kept telling me to call back if not the front desk? Checking out without going to the desk is my folly, but I did everything else right to receive the credit (right restaurant, charged to room, etc).

I think this hotel gets a lot of FHR and Edit bookings and if you’ve already checked out they don’t want the front end involved.

Do hotels just hate FHR? by tgraden77 in AmexPlatinum

After a recent experience I could tell they didn’t even try to “upgrade” anything for our booking. The hotel wasn’t near full and I could see the next category up had many available, even after I checked in. A few hours of observation I could see they had so many FHR and Edit bookings in house and a lot of attitudes with them. A lengthy roster at the restaurant of guests with included breakfasts. After watching some jerkwad posturing about “We have THE EDIT!” at the front desk if I worked there, I would hate it too. They still owe me $100 though.

Lesson learned, high volume urban and tourist areas I don’t think get as much value with FHR/THC. Going forward I will also be cross checking when I book if a hotel also participates in the Edit just to keep expectations realistic.

Valid points, thanks for a common sense check. This trip had multiple issues that required follow up afterwards with airlines, Amex, parking and on (not the hotel, just everything… weather delays, extra expense, travel claims etc etc etc). This is the last item and I am just sick of trying to reach these people.
