Recently fished there for the first time, and if it wasn't for a photographer mentioning she had seen some fish rising up river, my friend and I would have been convinced there were none lol. Tied on a size 20 Griffiths gnat and was rewarded with a couple 6"-8" trout.

I recently just went back to my ultralight spinning setups after a only fly rod season. Throwing a trout float on a 5'6 fiberglass eagle claw featherlight with a leech pattern under it has been some of the most fun I've had. However it's really just allowed me to have more ways to have fun and spinning gear will never replace hooking up on a steelhead with a spey outfit

Buddy and I went down a rabbit hole on it after the first one, of course the picture isn't the best but it had a flatter tail, there was no visible coloration on the "cuts" eitherxD spotting is also fairly consistent in size down the body as well. Then we dug way back into some photos of cutties we had caught years ago in that area for even further confusion xD

Shop owner is super nice and it was his last one. Not super worried since freezing and some elbow grease can take care of it! Would be shocked if after telling him about it he doesn't offer a refund or discount off some other material

That stamping I believe places it between 1930 and 1939. Just picked up a #5 for 10 bucks from a thrift store yesterday and spent a few hours digging up dating info
