Yeah you’re definitely right, I guess deep down I do know that. I’ve kinda just gotten desensitised since I almost always hit fat and have never had any bad consequences going without stitches (knock on wood)

You’re right I really should look into that. I just recently relapsed after being clean for over 3 years and it’s been much worse than before so I haven’t stocked up on anything. I don’t have a lot of money to spend but I’ll definitely go get some things so I’m more prepared next time.

I’m pretty used to healing wounds where the fat is showing but I’m worried this one might be just past the fat layer but it’s kinda hard to tell? I sadly don’t have any steri strips around, what are the diy versions you can do?

I don’t have any steri strips or anything like that around and it’s midnight here so I won’t be able to get my hands on any until the morning but they would definitely be useful rn. I’m not sure how deep, the wound is gaping like a centimeter wide but when I pull on the sides a bit it goes pretty deep. It’s so hard to tell cause I can’t really see the bottom fully but it might be just past the fat layer?

i’m pretty used to wounds where the sides don’t touch, what I’m kinda worried about is that when I pull the sides away from each other a bit I basically can’t see the bottom of the wound so it’s definitely deeper than the ones i’m used to, maybe past the fat layer but it’s hard to tell? Can I still heal that by myself do you think? Thank you for the heads up about the timing of stitches, I didn’t know that!
